Almost every day I see my old high school principal: I mow his lawn, we grocery shop, even go to church (separate congregations, but within the same building). How so? He’s my father.
I’m a retired police officer, and work backstage at a concert venue. The other night, the band had an after-show meet and greet. As the people were coming in, a man said “I know you, don’t I?” It was one of my college professors from the early 80s! I can’t believe he recognized me after all those years!
My mother was a junior high school secretary for many, many years.
I used to be amazed, when she’d recognize and greet by name some grown up who’d attended that school, many years before.
She confessed that she remembered all of the delinquents but rarely remembered the names or faces of the good kids. One of her duties was handling the daily truancy and detention roles.
I remember an episode of Seinfeld where he and George met up with their old gym teacher who ended up homeless after he bullied George and got fired. He still remembered George who he referred to as “Can’t stands you,” a reference to his real name Costanza.
My neighbors until I was about 8 whom I had not seen since recognized me when I was 30. My old history teacher back when I was in 8th grade remembered me when he saw me when I was 40. My HS Chem teacher remembered me by name 35 years after I had last seen him. Some people’s faces remain the same thruout their lives making them easy to remember. Then again, my teachers could have remembered me because I almost blew up my HS when I accidentally made nitro glycerin in advanced chemistry. No one died when it exploded, but damn lots of excitement afterwards
Just want to say Happy 70th Birthday to our NHS. A remarkable service. I will be helping out in August by simply lying back on a chair with a horrifying big needle in my vein. 3 days before I go to Norway.
Also you Americans out there. Our healthcare is not free at all. Don’t know where you got that idea from.

My parents sometimes see my Year 1 teacher, Mrs. McConnell. Although unfortunately she didn’t recognise my parents the last time they saw her.

I’ve had some good teachers and some bad teachers. The best ones were the ones that had a sense of humor and didn’t take everything too seriously.
