@Number Three Today’s strip would be funny if members of the family or friends of the accused were allowed to serve in a jury of the accused , so our HERO Mr Andrew Capp will get accuited :o) luckily because of our age we cannot be called to serve , my avatar is a spoof of how people percieve dentists , I used to hate going when I had teeth ,I don’t think you mind much , how was your day? ours should be very busy but we should cope I hope :o{ keep safe and thanks for caring pal
I was on the jury for a murder trial once long ago. We sent the guy up for life. Suspect that we’d still be there if capital punishment was an option. Maybe Andy is lucky. But his MIL should have been disqualified.
in all likelihood A.C is most probably going to appear before a magistrate court. in which case, no jury. More importantly if his MiL did not declare prior knowledge of the accused when being sworn in she would face as serious a charge as Andy
I’m sure she is as impartial as anyone. Truth is, his Lawyer should requested a change of venue. With all the people in town he owes markers to, it would difficult to put together an impartial jury.
I’m not keen on going to the dentist either. Even though my dentist Mark is great. I’ve had him since forever. However he did inject my gums and remove 4 of my teeth. But it was so worth it because now I have perfect straight white teeth and I always get complimented on my smile.
By the way after doing some research, it looks like I am eligible for the flu shot after all. Because I live with a person who is shielding which is my Dad. So I’ve made the brave decision to have it. I plan to wait until after I give blood and then I’ll make an appointment.
Any other time, I would not be eligible but because of COVID, I now am. Simply because I live in the same household with somebody who is shielding.
Have you had your flu shot yet, pal? I’m not looking forward to having it but feel like it’s my duty to protect myself and others. Especially my Dad.
Stay safe, stay well and stay healthy, pal. Love to Bella.

lady should be on the jury more often when her son-in-law is in a tirbunal

Either Capp’s public defender is incompetent or he hates him as much as the mother-in-law. Either way, everything is so wrong.

MIL doesn’t belong on that jury. Locking him up does no good unless it’s for natural life.

I thought that there was a law against having predjuced people on a jury.

Isn’t there a law against jurors being related to the defendant…ahem…accused.

Do judges there still wear those wigs?

I think after a couple of “outbursts” she will get removed from the courtroom. That’s what usually happens.

So much for an unbiased jury.

Objections, Your Honor, this jury is biased!

How did the defense attorney not get Andy’s mother-in-law kicked off the jury at the start of trial?
DavBlc7 about 4 years ago
I thought any relatives (including in-laws) of the defendant should not be permitted to do jury duties.
