He seems to have misunderstood the meaning of friendly.

And to spend the night in jail (or the canal).

I used to go see my “friends” in a bar, they weren’t “friends”

I have a different word for “Friendly”.

With the price of pints, nowadays, I’m not sure that this holds true anymore but when I lived in Ireland and worked in the U.K., the local was the social center for the neighborhood. Men, women, and even to a degree, kids – whether you were a toper or teetotaller, – congregated in the pub.

I think Andy’s Hartlepool cartoon pubs harken back to those days and the reality may be somewhat different and disappointing.

He’s a scrapper he is.

Who can you fight with if not your friends.

Been to the dentist today and I paid £25.80 for my treatment. A check up and scale and polish. The scale and polish is an uncomfortable procedure but doesn’t hurt. I’m brave enough to stick it out for a couple of minutes. I’d rather have that than a pap smear!

Unfortunately I need to go back in 3 months instead of 6 as the dentist has given me some tiny brushes to clean in-between my teeth because of tar build up. He also said my gums shouldn’t be bleeding after brushing. They don’t usually. I think they did because I haven’t had a scale and polish for 18 months. At least 1 sharp tool is involved in that process.

Just to clarify: Our healthcare is free when it comes to seeing the doctor or going into hospital but for the dentist and opticians we get a bill.
