We have always been One Nation Under God. It’s the vision that Jefferson & Franklin et.al. had for us. The small minority who don’t believe that and don’t care are what’s divisive.

I’m about as left-wing as you can get without being Trotsky. I’m also a veteran. My flag is up constantly in my classroom. And I have no idea why on earth flying one’s flag on any day would make somebody mad.

Amen to this. Too many people have forgotten and are living in a pre-9/11 mentality. We must unite together against those who seek to destroy us so that tragedies like this will not happen again. Above all, my prayer is that we will be One Nation Under God! Without God, the nation may one day fall.

Eight years have come and gone since that 9-11. In that time we have entered into two wars. Also my Pastor’s son was killed in Iraq. 9-11-2001 reaches far beyond 9-11-2001.

Joe Allen Doty said, If I had never watched TV on September 11, 2001, I would not have even been indirectly affected by what happened that day. ————————— Joe, usually I’m right with you. Not sure where you’re coming from with this one. Everyone, the world over, was affected by the events of 9/11. It doesnt matter one bit how close they were to a TV. Even the kids born on that day were affected. It changed all our lives. I think I understand that you already knew what this kind of loss was like, due to your time in Viet-Nam. But 9/11 just means we caught up to you. And since you share the world with us, you’ve been affected. You’re no longer living in a world with people who have no idea what an experiance like that is like. It makes a difference. ———————- Joe Doty also said, Some people talk and write as there has only been one 9-11; but, there is a 9-11 on every calendar each year. Today is a 9-11. But, it is 9-11-2009

I discussed this today with my students in class. There is only one 9/11. Today’s date may be the 11th of Septemeberm but it’s not 9/11. We’ll always know what day they mean when people speak of 9/11. And it won’t mean today. ——– My thanks for todays comic. And thank you to all who are serving or who have served to keep our Nation safe.

..since this is two days later and no one will probably read this or re-comment on it,1st off ,very nice tribute. On 9/11,I wish I would have started here on Ucomics instead of comics.com.I read over a third of their comics with no 9/11 references before I gave up. Next, about the comment,’One nation under God’.Amen,brother.But,please do not forget the 1st part that includes …’And to the republic for which it stands’.I love my government. It is the best in the world, and when you forget that part…any part of ‘THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE’ -you are just being a tool of big business and their paid cronies.

THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE is to our country! I stopped watchng programs on Fox news when I realized that their allegiance was to their advertizers $$$ not to America. It was funny, but in the long run they always stood for the people who put ads on their shows.

Not all of these international companies love America like Daddy Warbucks…
