Gene returns to sit with Arlo and Janis. Arlo asks, "Whao was that young lady?" Gene replies, "A friend." Arlo asks, "Is everything ok?" Gene replies, "Yes." Arlo looks at Gene. Gene is in his own world as he stares outward. Arlo tells Janis, "He's growing up." Arlo explains, "Things he'll never forget are things we'll never know."
