A woman is playing softball and is preparing to catch a fly ball. She screams, "I got it! I got it!" About to catch the ball, the woman screams, "I got it!" Then Janis runs into the woman. Both women are sitting on the ground. Janis says, "Well, I wasn't the one screaming 'I got it' before I had it!"
“I got it” means I’m going to catch it.
