When humility and grace should abound,
When laughter and sighs should resound,
The thing's become money, and the clamor's not funny,
Friends! Let's take this affront lying down!
I only grocery shopped on Friday. Won’t be setting foot in a mall since I can’t afford to buy gifts, and if I could I’d probably shop online. Can you tell I HATE SHOPPING!
Well, I was going to avoid it all. Then my tv died. Guess if that’s going to happen, Black Friday is a good time for it, did get a good deal on a new one, and crowds weren’t to bad late in the day. Still, ran out got it, went home! That was the extent!
I wrote a brief letter to the editor of our local paper two weeks before Thanksgiving, saying we should boycott black Friday. It didn’t get in. I didn’t shop either. I hate trying to get through such heavy and rude crowds. After making a holiday dinner, I just want to relax for a few days. Go shopping in the “maddening crowd”? Not on your life!
I did do a bit of shopping Friday, but only for lumber and supplies I needed to finish a home project. And I went to the “corner hardware” store. Even though their prices are higher than the big-boxes there were no crowds and that was worth the extra couple of bucks.
