The problem is balls and strike calls are the most often incorrect of any calls.

Off subject, but it is starting to bother me, summer is almost gone and they have done nothing with the boat. Luddie would make a great Ship’s Cat. If nothing else a family weekend, even if they do nothing but sit on the deck and drink beer (wine?). The “Janis” needs maintenance also.

A story line around the “joys” of learning to be a Blue Water Sailor would be fun. Then a few words: Florida Keys, Bahamas’ out islands, Caymans, Turks/Caicos, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands, Belize, etc.

Gee, the opportunity to correct a bad call before it changes the outcome of the game. What a bad idea.

Doublepaw, and the irony is, balls and strikes would be the easiest to automate with cameras. A couple of well-placed cameras focused on home plate and you wouldn’t even need the umpire behind the plate except to make calls on balls in play.
