My DH has always walked ahead of me like he’s leading a parade! If I walk faster, he looks over his shoulder and picks up the pace. Once a stranger told him, “Watch out, she’s catching up to you!” Didn’t faze him.

The view is nicer from Arlo’s POV when he walks behind. He can watch Janis’ sweet buns.

They’re sand people

It’s easier to draw them walking single file rather than side by side.

I thought the reason was that it’s easier to draw…

My husband and I have always walked side by side, except when we were younger my walking speed was always really fast, and I’d always have to slow down to wait for him. We are older now, he’s disabled, and I use a cane, he’s the one that slows down to wait for me to catch up. LOL.

And… where do the speech bubbles go in that bottom left panel? Jimmy never meta in-joke he didn’t like.

Then there are the couples who insist on walking side-by-side taking up most of the sidewalk and not giving any room when meeting someone coming the other way.

JJ is not consistent in the way that he depicts Janis’ boobs. Some times they are adequate and a other times they are a bit on the small side.

I’ve always wondered why they walked in single file—this isn’t Scooby-Do!
