July and August are welcome times here in Flagstaff, AZ. June can get hot (up to the low 90s, which are considered cool in Phoenix, 150 miles south) but it stays dry. In early July moisture moves in and triggers the rainstorms. In Phoenix that is not an improvement… everything soaked as the sun comes out and heats it to 106F. Here it is bliss, dropping the temperature into the 70s or even 60s.
