When growing up our cats knew they weren’t allowed upstairs, in bedrooms or on the furniture – they just need training properly, but I think too many people have no clue how to train pets now

C’mon…. cats do exactly what you tell them to do.

IF they feel like it, and it’s just what they wanted to do anyway…

    and the stars are right…

    and it’s the correct Tuesday….

    and they like you today…

and you bribe them with treats….

and the treats are nice and fresh…

    and they’re not feeling passive-aggressive…

My cat would have come back and batted him just to let him know he was being a bad human!

Our cat digs in his claws and rides the blanket to the top. “Oooh, fun! Shake it again, Mum!”

I suspect that revenge will be dished out at about 2:00am.

When we bought our house, there were mice in the basement. We got a cat and the cat got rid of the mice. However, she did this at night, and would bring the dead mice into the bed to show us. Thankfully, the mice finally disappeared, and we could stop waking up with her trophy in our bed.

In the winter, my cat will go in the bedroom about half an hour before I do, and curl up where I sleep….when I come in, she moves to “her” spot, leaving me a nice warm spot to sleep on.

We have 3 cats. When they were little, I decided their bedtime was 9:00. I would call them, spread treats on the floor of the utility room, and go get the ones who didn’t respond. It varied. After about 2 years (they are 9 and 10 now) they started bugging me around 9:00 to go to bed and get their treats. I hardly have to call them anymore. They just automatically head for their beds at about the right time. I call it “herding cats”.
