Some of our customers use grocery insurance cards. It covers the base price of your healthy food, but you still have to pay taxes for that stuff, and you pay for any unhealthy stuff you get. A specific customer does this same routine every time she comes in. She fills her cart with all kinds of garbage and hands me the card, it takes off whatever it covers, and then she throws a fit that she still has to pay afterward.
Customer: “[Major Retail Chain] doesn’t make me pay for the rest. I never have this problem at [Chain]!”
I am done with her at this point.
Me: “Ma’am, can you read my nametag?”
I point to my nametag, which also has the name of the store on it.
Customer: “What?! Of course, I can!”
Me: “Oh, good. For a moment there, I thought you’d forgotten how to read the names of stores.”
Customer: “Are you giving me sass?!”
Me: “No, ma’am, just your total.”
Customer: “[Chain] doesn’t treat me this way!”
Me: “Noted.”
Customer: “That’s all you have to say?!”
Me: “Would you like directions to [Chain]?”
Customer: “Are you trying to get fired?!”
Me: “I’ve been here for twenty years, and I train all the new cashiers. I’m bulletproof. How will you be paying today?”
She paid, like she always pays. She’ll be back again next week for the same song and dance.
The Facebook app is one of the worst battery and space hogs in the Appverse. I deleted it a long time ago. And with F-erberg’s rampant liberal censorship I’ve all but completely abandoned Facebook entirely even through the Web.

It is a good thing there’s inflation because it wouldn’t be worth 100 1967 dollars.

If I didn’t own a computer, I would not own a phone. I used the phone to get the codes to log into my accounts.
