Gracie: One day, I'll be the First Woman! Baldo: You mean First Lady. Gracie: No, I mean First Woman. Baldo: First Woman to do what? Gracie: Whatever first needs doing!
Gracie better hurry. The women’s movement has been going long enough that there are fewer and fewer firsts available with every passing year, and the ones that are available are getting smaller in scope. First female member of Congress, US Senator, Governor of a state, astronaut – already taken. There’s still First woman President of the US, but by the time Gracie is 35, it may not be available, either. Hurry, Gracie.
