That’s where you learn the stuff that ISN’T in the books. (Well, those are the books you see AFTER you don’t need ’em!)

I don’t believe you’ll find those old time merry go-rounds on kid’s playgrounds any longer… there was one of those and an old time “monkey bar” structure at a nearby former school/township hall… someone must have gotten hurt because they suddenly disappeared… :-|

Teeter-totters are definitely a thing of the past! I love that our little readers are enjoying old-fashioned, low-tech equipment. I do like the soft surfaces they now use on playgrounds, though. Makes your landing safer when you fall off something.

Were is this land you speak of? Reminds me of the song: Playground in my mind.

One of the things I love about our parks here in Ecuador is that they all have lots of fun and creative things for kids to play on and burn off all that excess energy. Some neighborhood parks are designed exclusively for children ( but with plenty of benches for the parents and grandparents to sit and supervise )

The larger parks have bike and skateboard facilities ( hills, jumps, etc. ) for the teenagers. As well as basketball courts, 5-on-5 soccer pitches, bike and jogging tracks, and exercise stations with a variety of work out machinery.

Parks are well patrolled by security personnel and well maintained.

It’s no wonder that day or night, they are always popular with both kids and adults of all ages.
