My bank just sent me a notice that I am pre approved for a personal line of credit that is higher than my annul income. Clearly they are out to help me with all of life’s little problems, all they want in return is for me to take on a bigger problem in return.

Lately we have been getting offers in the mail for home equity loans – some from our banks, some from other banks. Also offered a line of credit (from our bank) for our business. Gee, I would figure that a business that keeps less than $50 (sometimes much less) in it’s bank account and has deposits of under $2,000 a year (again, sometimes much less) would not qualify for or be a good candidate for a line of credit – nor would it need same.

A client of mine forwarded an email she received. It is signed by so and so,“Treasury agent” It has been discovered that there is some of sort of error with a company (that neither she nor I have ever heard of) and she has been certified as being owed a million something dollars. They will send it to by her by USPS Priority Next Day mail by her choice of certified check payable to her or a debit card. It has also says that it has been determined the fee for this will not be more than $199.

Amazing what they come up with. IRS specifically states that they will never initiate contact to any one by telephone or email unless they have previous sent a letter by USPS to the person about the matter.
