When it’s ready, it’ll cost the best part of a C-note to fill the gas tank and will not get better than 20 MPG on the open road, with a tailwind. Unless it’s a straight six. Maybe. That’s still a lead sled.
Before buying a repair manual, they need a jack stand to replace the concrete block. Blocks can and do break. Would have killed a friend except he crawled out to answer a phone.
That cinder block is a death trap. Many have died trusting them. It’s not even used at it’s strength in the comic. It’s supposed to be set with the walls vertical. Even then it can crumble.

what places did Baldo have in mind? Route 66 and Detroit?

I think Baldo should invest in a repair guide for that car instead of guessing.

OK, now it’s looking more like a ’64. Previous renderings suggested a ’63.

A few years ago my son bought a Mercedes for $400. It was in about the same shape as Baldo’s car. “But it’s a MERCEDES!”

I know comic strip time moves in a different way….but some progress should be happening….even a tarp over the car’s interior…

Back “in them days” I used the blocks, with the strong side up and also left tension on the jack for multiple support.

I rebuilt a ‘53 Ford F100, and ’55 Chevy, in H.S. neither of them was as bad off as Baldo’s.

At least the grille looks more like a ‘64 now, but the windshield pillar is still ’61-’62 vintage.
