A couple of days ago I was looking out my front window and I saw a little kid go bouncing by on a pogo stick, and I thought “Man that looks like fun!” Then I thought “How stupid would I have to be to actually try and do that at my age?” And then he bounced out of sight and I could relax again, safe & warm, gazing out the window at the little birds that I feed.

What’s this got to do with a possum?

Yeah, it’s fun and games now, but just wait ’til you put an eye out… Oh, wait, that was a BB gun. Still, I remember you could seriously hurt yourself with a pogo stick.

That has to her father’s po-go stick. They are a thing of the past just like yo-yo’s, and kites

Seems the point was to make each panel rhyme, but in the Spanish version it doesn’t in the first two, and is a stretch in a couple others.

I had a pogo stick. Used to ride in my driveway going for a record number of hops. Got into the hundreds but came the day when it started “bottoming out” as I grew too heavy for it…

~ Belated replies to Dec. 31st as I was otherwise occupied for the holiday.

Thank you, cd and Ling Ling !

It warmed me good too, to see an accelerated intellect in a kid that age, boy or girl, get encouraged and helped along to realize their full potential rather than be shunted off as “odd, strange or weird”. U.S. is an idiot. Denying them to come here for a high grade education, she wouldn’t even have to worry about financing, is akin to what my WWII war combatant friend had told me when he said “The brains of Germany went up the flue at Auschwitz.”

A girl in my 6th grade class took 1st place in the school wide spelling bee. I came in 3rd, behind another girl. They were both Jews. In high school, the first girl’s dad came to our school and gave a lecture, that was recorded on the then new tech, VCR, (early 1970s) of his time as a young French Jew boy in “camp” and even showed us his “tattoo” on his left wrist. Our school had two of those machines and we were told they were expensive.

@ BlueIris  Regardless Albert’s actual number, it’s pretty indisputable that he had a very high caliber of intellect going for him.

@ rp   Mizz Holmes is a black pus infected stain on all good girls and women everywhere. (the nicest I can say without going back to the GC Twilight Zone)
