    Hullo, All…

Here we have Cleo as she was…

walking on all fours and speaking via thought balloons…

in the May 6th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” … on Sherpa.

You can see that the sarcasm has always been there…

though today she might be the one making the puns, even as she professes disdain for Claude’s efforts.

Of course, Clara, allegedly the most disdainful of all, has been known to get in a few whacks of her own, as well.

I hat to admit it… OK, no I don’t… but I would have said exactly what Claude did.

In fact, it’s what came to my mind even before the intended meaning of “He just can’t drive” sank in.

    It’s a problem I have… and I bet Claude has the same one….

a tendency to hear things “wrong”… often misunderstanding what is said.

I bet we’ve both been asked why we make puns…

and I don’t know about Claude… but my answer is “How do you NOT?”

    Speaking of Claude’s friend… I think I was,,,

I was trying to figure out his T-shirt when I realised that of course, they’re in Cleveland, so it’s an “Indians” shirt.

I just have to say… I remember reading that the Indians finally got rid of their ugly, bright red, cartoon “Indian” logo… sorry, anybody who liked it….

But how, in 2020, is being “Indians” still a thing?

Even Indians aren’t “Indians” any more!

I know “Cleveland Native Americans” doesn’t have a certain… je ne sais quoi… so maybe it’s time for a naming rights contest.

Not a sale… that’s how you get stadiums named for electronics companies…. and my city ended up with a “Wells Fargo Center for the Performing Arts.”

I don’t think “Cleveland Microsofts” would be great.

Oh… and while I’m talking about sports teams… rare for me…

how come some are named for cities and some for whole states?

I think Cleveland has the Indians and maybe still the Browns, and Cincinnati has the Reds and a football team, too…

but Columbus is bigger and has neither.

Yet the Minnesota Vikings and the Texas Rangers represent whole states? Texas is huge.

California has loads of teams… several in some cities…

and I seem to recall the Los Angeles Angels being at one time the California Angels.

I have no idea how that works… except that I know cities buy sports franchises.

Not being a sports fan, I don’t really understand anyway, how a team gets bought, or sold, and suddenly everybody in the new location is a fan,

and their old fans root against them.

My late brother was an Oakland Raiders fan… then they went to LA so he hated them… then they came back so he loved them again…

Now I think they’re gone again.

    Sheesh.
