The nice little Spaniel mix, however, is confused and upset.

It looks like these bassets have gotten into some bad kibble. I’ve felt about that green once in awhile, and I can tell you, it’s not fun!

Oh my, Bela Dogosi!! Or, as you may recall, Dogula! Stel Bel has flagged these stars in this poster for Bassets in the Rue Morgue. They certainly look like they belong in a morgue!

Good Morning, Cleo fans … we can tell that it’s October now,

the season of the witch is upon us…

and I will be taking up pretty much permanent residence behind various couches, including my own and the Clifford’s …

and behind Scaredy Cat row at the BassetPlexII.

I believe I will often be joined by Montana Lady, and by others in our group, male and female…

those of us who would choose to think about… oh, perhaps, the pretty autumn leaves… or a pleasant tale….

over whatever ghosts, goblins, vampires and assorted menaces are making their appearances between now and Samhain, or All Soul’s Day, or Halloween.

Which means, that though it’s a lovely poster, that StelBel did for

the Oct 6th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa…

I’ve been busy…um… playing tiddlywinks, and having some nice pie, out in the garden, so I didn’t see it.

It’s a famous film, though… so I do know about it.

When I was quite young, I enjoyed reading Edgar Allan Paw stories…

When Howlywood gets its “Paws” on them. so to speak, they attain another level of blood and doom, and I must run and hide.

    Bela Dogosi… famous for “Dogula”,

was given this starring role as consolation, for being overlooked for “Frankenbasset”, despite promises made.

But then, his heavy chewing on the scenery got the film some bad reviews….

in spite of critical praise for the perky young Sidney Fox, and her still-puppyish charms.

His character had a nasty habit of capturing attractive females and injecting them with the blood of his evil caged hound,…

to make them want to mate, and produce evil puppies.

Now that was a bit over-the-top… but you have to blame Edgar Allan Paw, not Dogosi.

    Trivia:

One female he captured and murdered, early on, was played by Arfeen Prances…

she went on to be a television pioneer and then a fixture on “Where’s My Bone.”

Another wonderfully done poster of an Edgar Allan Paw masterpiece with the ever scary Bela Dogosi although I’m kinda partial to the later Vinny Prince really scary ones like the Pitbull and the Pendulum.

Oh, look! The put all the chairs in ScardyCat Row down at the Bassetplex backwards! That’s so Susan and I and the rest don’t accidentally glimpse the gore! Easier to talk and throw kibble that way.

Bela Dogosi; an actor known for his abilities in horror flicks. Could it have been because his own life was a horror show?
