For an old gal, Lois still has a lotta git-along in her come-along…..if you know what I mean…I think we’ve seen her in all manner of exuberant, perhaps even daredevil pursuits…
Admired but not followed into action by her reluctant spouse.
I love Lego people…in fact, I love Legos…. have to keep mine buried away so I don’t play with them.
They’re all old ones…. collected years ago from garage sales, etc.
I don’t have any of the fancy new stuff… the realistic windows and parapets and car parts and space stuff …Just mostly bricks and a few of the first simple wheels…
But I do have some Lego people, some from thrift shops… or I bought myself one of the little holiday stocking stuffers on clearance. I used to amaze my nephew by assembling the simple ones without opening the bag!LOLHey, we all need a hobby!
Bev — I’m confused about the timing…. If you just went back now …. yeah, I posted the chicks about 10:30 last night and then realised everybody would have moved on by then…
Anyway…. I doesn’t matter, as long as you saw them.As I said, I get the feeling they’re those little chenille pipe-cleaner-ish things that were always attached to Easter baskets in our childhood…you cab still buy them but more parts are plastic now, of course….Some have a wire at the bottom that could easily be twisted into the poodle’s fur.
Pg Tips is indeed English tea… not the fanciest, but good plain everyday tea that most of my British friends prefer, and so do I.Makes Lipton taste like…well, I won’t say.
I started drinking it many years ago…the woman I consider my closest girlfriend is English…and her sister and in-laws used to send her care packages full of tea.
I’m spoiled now, and usually search it out.Nowdays you can find it at Cost Plus and even in some supermarkets. At about $4 for 40 bags it’s a pretty small luxury.
We didn’t have all this imported tea back in the day…the best I could do was Red Rose… though the US version was pretty awful.
And yeah, I did also go with an English guy, from the mid 90’s till a few years ago… but that was a coincidence. And he drank PG Tips too… he was happy when I told him he could buy it in the US.
Gotta go out… I’ll be back…keep the rest of that banana bread…. I made a lot for the Tiki too… and for my house, cos I never know when the Monkey will stop by…. he needs a lot of foot rubs…. and I’ve never seen anybody go through banana bread like he can.
It’s OK, though…. he’s very good to me…and I always buy so many bananas, between shopping for myself and helping bring in daiquiri ingredients for the bar, I usually have loads of overripe ones.
Bev… do you mean the pom pom on his tail, for the egg?
I dunno…. that haircut is just SO weird it’s hard to say what part is weirder than the rest.
I think that basically, they were wishing the rooster could look like this:
But they had half a poodle left over… and they didn’t know what to do with it.
AS for acetone…. I do not like it.I don’t think it’s all that safe to breathe, nor do I like acrylic nails, nail glue, gel polishes…. or even powdered hair bleach, all for safety reasons. But what do I know… millions of people use them.My clients know, though, that I won’t do any of them, or work in a place that does tips, because I get respiratory effects. And about Legos…you at least have an excuse…I have no kids…so my Legos are MINE.MINE, I tell you.
Ok, this should probably be a blog, but I dont have one…I followed a couple of links today on YouTube…I shouldnt have…Once I hit Indian Outlaw by Tim McGraw, it followed that Jonn Anderson’s Seminole Wind should follow…it made me think of my ancestors…I am 1/4 Comanche and 3/4 English, Irish and Welsh…and totally Jewish…does that make me a Heinz 57? … More than likely….but my native heritage sometimes draws me, drags me, makes me listen to an inner voice…stop reading if you dont want to hear this, but seriously folks, save our heritage…its not just mine, its yours, it ours, its America’s…save the wetlands, save the keys, save the swamps, save the mustangs and the burros…save America…and listen and hear the voice behind it…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8sh9P3X33w
23:08 MST,Nov 17Waiting for the switch. On a train home from the symphony. They played Mozart’s 41st Symphony(K.551), the Adagio from Mahler’s 10th (unfinished) Symphony, and Korngold’s Violin Concerto. Hilary Hahn was the soloist. She played two encores. It was great. If Ms Hahn plays in your neck of the woods be sure to go.
Guess I’ll straighten up the kitchen a bit and go on home… well, to the salon…
I like to stay over whenever I can on Saturday nights, what with the 67 not running on Sundays.
Fenton! Closing the kitchen for awhile…left some banana bread on the counter and a couple of yak sandwiches in the back bar fridge….need anything else?
Good Mornin’ Ballardeers ! Back home, semi-safe and sound, although last night wasn’t exactly a winner.I went over to a friend’s to watch my LSU Tigers defeat Ole Miss last night. Bev — there’s a lot of sliced yak in the fridge…Make yourself another sandwich if you like…the Monkey won’t care, cos I cooked a giant piece for him and the Tiki while he was busy on a gig.
We just need to leave him a couple of dinners, and by then he’ll probably fire up the smoker for ribs.Do go read the Crustwood Gazette if you can.
Bev, just what is going on in “Legoland”?? I hope that massacre isn’t part of the “Tradition” there! Gosh…it’s raining turkeys in Crestwood…a mass killing in Legoland…they’re still stuck in Election Day mode over at Citizen Dog and tempers are flairing…Poncho and the gang at Pooch Cafe are scheming to keep dogs legal in their town….I hope we can count on the Sheriff and his deputies to keep us safe here on Ballard St.! The dogs and cats have calmed down (at least for now), but the turkeys over at the Ballard Experimental Farm and Secret Nuclear Testing Apple Pie and Pet Shop are threatening to rumble…

Bev… I guess I missed you… sigh…I posted that close-up of the poodle for you on yesterday…
Didn’t realise it took so long I missed the turn.
And then I fell asleep by the fire in the Tiki, I guess….
LOL

Meanwhile…. JimmyH …. this IS lawn darts…only there’s a different meaning to “dart”…as they dart here and there about the lawn.

Sounds like fun – I would like a game where I can run any which way. Don’t like to be disciplined. Muffin looks like quite a contender.

I just checked yesterday’s board..
Mine is still the last post on that page…. answering your answer to me.
Did you go back after the turn?
I posted the the close-up of the little chicks, and maybe you haven’t seen it.

By the way Muffin is looking at Lois, I can only surmise that Muffin wants to be Number One !
And @ Bailey : I agree. Lois will blow a gasket when she finds out that Norbert glued his fingers together again!

Hi No. 3…Nice to see you.
Bev…. when you invited No. 3 to the farmhouse, you should have said we’re really NOT all as crazy as that sounds.
Oh… wait… I guess you shouldn’t lie to the poor child….sigh…but I’d love to stop by for tea too…
I’m thinking you won’t mind…. I hope…. especially if I bring some PG Tips (tea) in honor of Number 3’s visit.
I can bring some banana bread too…but I have to warn you that the aroma sometimes attracts wandering Monkeys…
(pssst…I mean… just tell me to leave it home if you’re doing anything you don’t want the Sheriff to see.)
