Years ago someone told me he would put about 50 volts on an electrolytic capacitor and toss it on the floor for the cat to play with. After a few minutes the cat would usually get across the contacts and receive a shock. It wasn’t enough to do anything more than startle it. The cat evidently didn’t mind because the guy was able to do it on a regular basis (about once a week).
