At first I thought Glen and Stephen must be rodeo cowboys….but no….Just a couple of carpet jockeys, longtime participants in the Ballard Days Rug Races… Proud founding members of the Ballard County Carpet Brigade…And joint captains of the Rug Rollin’ Rangers, Ballard County’s Carpet Olympics Exhibition team….You may have seen them escape that huge carpet pile-up, to win the State Carpet Competition and Casserole Cook-off.
Not only would you never catch me stepping foot on that glass bridge, you won’t find me looking at the picture of it again, if I can help it….Or even thinking about the walkway that runs along the support cables, high above the bridge… Maybe it doesn’t have a glass floor….but you can see right through it anyway….eeeeeeek!
In fact, even when Sheriff MonkeyBlues visits the high mountains of Eastern Turdmunkestan, and suggests that I might want to see them some time, I am ever so willing to stay right here.
They tried it with 55 gallon metal drums but the locals complained about too much noise and that was the job of the sanitation department to make that noise. So carpet was chosen as it is far more quieter and folks don’t think the trash truck is early.
SheriffI was watching Expedition Unknown and high up in the Mountains, one Village over from your home, was a cafe with the sign: YakDonalds Is it the one owned by your brother-in-Law?BTW, if you don’t watch this show, you should check it out.
seeing this I cringe thinking they might try this in S.F.A Highway through a Building !!!!
Gate Tower Building is a 16-story office building in, Osaka, Japan. And what makes it notable is the highway that passes through the 5th-7th floors of this building. The Gate Tower Building is Japan’s first building to have a highway pass through it. And it had been nicknamed “beehive” referring to its appearance as a “bustling place”.
The expressway is the tenant of these floors. The elevator doesn’t stop on floor 5th-7th, floor 4 being followed by floor 8. These floors consist of elevators, stairways, machinery and other stuff.
The highway passes through the building as a bridge, held up by supports next to the building, making no contact with the building itself.
The building has a double core construction, with a circular cross section and special care is taken by providing surrounded structure to the highway to protect the building from noise and vibration. Generally expressways are built underground, and passing through a building is an extremely rare occasion. It dates back to 1983, when the redevelopment of this area was decided upon, “building permits were refused because the highway was already being planned to be built over this land. The property rights’ holders refused to give up, and negotiated with the Hanshin Expressway Corporation for approximately 5 years to reach the current solution.”

While it may be quite fun rolling around in old carpet, I much prefer hay. Really, who doesn’t enjoy a good roll in the hay?

Even the Glenn & Stephen’s dog, Julius Sneezer, gets into the act. Although, he tends to spend a lot of time napping !

Actually, Glenn and Stephen’s activities look like fun. But, I agree with whiteheron, a roll in the hay would be more enjoyable.
