And a fine looking rig it is. You might have to give me a few nanner daks before I’d get on it, though.

I have a logistical question. Do they both mount up from the same side at different times, or from either side at the same time? Or by vaulting, like a gymnast, from behind?

With practice, I bet they could do the second option. I would love to see that!

    No, no…..

    it’s like a bicycle or a motorcycle…..

Stephen mounts, in the usual way, in front….

    then Stephanie mounts behind him.

    When she’s wearing a straight-skirted polka-dot party frock, as she is tonight….

she sometimes sits side-saddle….legs to the left.

    Right foot in left stirrup.

Stephanie likes to make a grand entrance, ever since she saw Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra.

I rarely point out the errors of Mr. Van Amerongen’s portrayal of out Ballard Street critters but today’s rendering of Big Bertha – the Staceys steed – while flattering to the filly is slightly inaccurate.

    .

Given the girth and substance of Mr. & Mrs. Stacy, no ordinary cayoose would be able to carry those two ( nor would want to ) for any length of time and distance.

    .

Big Bertha, however, is more than up to the task. This perky Percheron used to pull the circus wagons and performed in the big ring with several acrobats balanced on her back. To this day, she hates clowns !

As a bonus, by the end of the evening, your lawn will be mowed.

I’m guessing that’s a horn on the back of the forward seat.
