Hi, everybody….

I know that since all the changes, with image posting no longer allowed, old friends leaving the site, and new ones joining us,

We aren’t doing as much about birthdays as we once did.

But today (Monday) I just have to wish a

VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to

SHERIFF MONKEYBLUES!!

Friend to us all, owner of the Tiki Bar, (and my boss!)

Sheriff of Ballard County…. and the very first person whose birthday we ever celebrated on Ballard Street!

I hope you will all join me in toasting the occasion,

and, of course, raising a glass to the Monkey himself….

and Monkey…

I really hope you stop by!

They’re even going to cover up the SUN for you, Monkey!

Only briefly, but what an honor!

They sure didn’t do that on my birthday.

I’ll drink to that.

Can I buy you an Eclipse Beer, Susan. It’s rather dark but that seems appropriate.

That’s a position I’d like to find.

I haven’t been making new birthday cakes….

But the eclipse being a special event, AND the Monkey being a special friend,

I decided to commemorate both, here at the Tiki,

It’s layers of dark chocolate fudge cake,

eclipsed, of course, with swirls of sweet dark chocolate frosting…..

and because it’s for the Monkey….

banana cream filling in the middle layer, and a mound of banana cake on top!

Since we don’t know whether he’ll show up, feel free to have a slice….

but please cut it from the back, for now, so he can see what the cake looks like whenever he arrives.

I enjoyed nearly a minute of totality here in McMinnville, OR.
