The squirrel is wondering how he’s going to get this nut in to his stash in the hollow tree.

Well, the Squirrel is the smarter one of the two. Newman knew nothing about quantum physics.

Squirrel is offended. Why did this guy suddenly stop talking to him? They were getting along so well.

Maybe Newman’s taking the Pepsi Challenge…and mixing it up with the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Must’ve been something the squirrel said.

Let’s think about it, Newman. Does the world need to hear what a squirrel says about world affairs? If the answer’s “yes,” then by all means keep talking with Rocky and make a record of his remarks. Otherwise ……………………. yeah, I guess you’re right. Shake it off.

What made it worse for Newman is when the squirrel replied in kind.

Squirrels sometimes have an interesting perspective if you take the time to listen to them. Well, I have to be scurrying off now.

Newman would do himself a favor if he had his little talks with bunnies instead.

A very odd way to shake it off, chances are good the squirrel has never seen it done like that before. Be the subject of much hilarity at the next squirrel meet.

Good move. Sometimes I talk to my cats. It’s when I’m listening to my cats that I worry. :)

All I know is if that squirrel can converse he can probably publish a tell all book about residents of Ballard Street. He could call it, “Nuts of Ballard Street”.
