Spencer’s For Hire?

Spencer spends his afternoons down to the Courthouse.

That looks like a mighty sharp turn at the “mouth of the canyon.” I hope Sparkplug and Spencer’s horsemanship are up to the task.

You head them off at the pass, not BEFORE the pass, and it’s cattle not people this usually applies to.

Spencer’s last name is Donner. We won’t get into his dietary proclivities, just yet. Suffice it to say, he’s been described as a cowboy " with a lean and hungry look ".
