That happened to me once. I finally got the hint and paid for my item and left.
I’ve had that feeling of “I’m being watched.” on a few occasions. I immediately leave because I don’t like being treated like a thief.

However, NOW, in many jurisdictions, petty theft and many more other “small” violations of the Penal codes are not considered crimes. Why not just get two bottles…..
