Strange, it was just yesterday I was at the grocery store and watched a young lady, still in her teens, pushing a long line of carts across the parking lot….pushing them through the snow covered lot. She was really having to put her back into it, but she managed. As I walked by, I commented…“That’s good exercise!”

I’ve do this sometimes. Mostly out of annoyance that people are so lazy and/or rude, so no yippie-ki-yay. It’s like littering. There’s really no excuse for it.

Now go pick up the trash in the Wal-Mart lot. Go ahead. Take a day…

Hans Gruber has sunk to the level of scattering shopping carts around parking lots to impede cars. (“Yippee Ki Yay,”, a sad reminder that Bruce Willis is in far worse shape than Eb.)

During a recent snow here in Portland, our local store would send their staff out to do a cart run from time to time, but specified that they only retrieve 2 or 3 at a time “for safety”.

Grocery cart returns is a great test of the golden rule. Just bring it to the cart return & put the big carts in the big cart line & little ones in the little ones line. Very little time or effort needed. A test so easy, yet a test the overwhelming majority fail. And a true indicator of a person’s decency. I wonder how the Big Guy sees it?!?!

exiting the home center the other day, we saw that someone had left a cart right on the other side of the sliding glass doors. i thought, to accomplish that, the person would have to have pushed the cart into that position, instead of just leaving it somewhere vaguely near the cart rack the way that folks usually do…
