If I dislike someone I try to figure out why I don’t like them by getting to know them better. This is pretty much the same thing I guess. Sometimes my impression is correct, sometimes it is changed.

I tried this with a co-worker, but he spent the entire time telling me how inept I was. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I was supposed to.
