It’s only fair after featuring an anteater so many times in this strip, that they feature a helmet.

MONTANA LADY In CT you have to wear a seat belt on four wheels but don’t have to wear a brain-bucket on two. “Let those who ride decide” is the rallying cry. The rest of us pay for the health care of the brain dead.

Arkansas doesn’t have a helmet law either. I rode motorcycles for years and I beleive that anyone who doesn’t wear a helmet has nothing up there that is working properly to save anyway.

I agree with “Let those who ride decide.” Are the hospitals full of brain dead motorcyclists in CT, Lewreader? If you don’t like paying for them, change the laws. Not by restricting someones choices, but by requiring that they sign a waiver of financial responsibility absolving the state from having to pay for the health care that results from those choices.

I wouldn’t be seen dead wearing one.

    Which is the whole point.

I live in a state with a helmet law, but I grew up in a state without one. When I visit my family, I see riders on the freeway without helmets, and I think they’re morons.

Oh, I like a full-face helmet, as well. My jaw isn’t a particularly attractive one, but I’d hate to lose it.

In Canada, you need to wear a brain bucket for rollerblades, bicycles and skateboards…

Considering that helmets saved the lives of both my Dad and my husband BEFORE the helmet law in CA went into effect, I see no problem with always wearing a helmet. Having to legislate the use of them, on the other hand, is intrusive and another example of government being in the nanny business.

Sheik - you have a dirty mind! (please keep it up - pun semi-intended)

Don’t skimp on protective gear - what you spend on a helmet should be proportional to the value of your head.

BTW - what do emergency room personnel call helmetless bike riders?

    Organ donors. :(

Full helmets are great for keeping the bugs out of your teeth. Was ridingg without one once and almost ate a wasp.

Here in Nevada, the law mandates that we MUST wear the helmet while we ride on motercycles, bikers and rollerblades or skates whatever. And of course we must wear the seat belts for our safety. if one person doesn’t wear the seat belt while driving, the person will get a citation ticket for not wearing a seat belt. Think about our safeties while driving on the roads. Some of the people already killed at the vehicle accidents in several days ago. Sadly! sighhhh!

If a helmet on a bike makes you safer, you should wear one walking as well. The death/injury rate per mile is the same.

Rock and roll, dry clothes, and personal calls aren’t in a helmet. Why cut my fun in half? Four tires make Sears twice as happy.
