Interestingly, in this case the fittest could include any social orginazation among members which involved one helping the other, rather than just leaving him to die alone in the tar pit. Thus, it would not just be the fittest individual, but the fittest social organization.

This is where the “smarter” person gets “unselected”.

Notice the subtle co-mingling of evolution AND heaven? Nice touch.

Take your “Four Blood Moons” by John Hagee and think the world is going to change because there is a shadow on the Moon then wonder why people think you are dumb.

What did they call them before they were the “Darwin Awards?”

@Nabuquduriuzhur Actually, although the tar pits have thousands of fossils, they were in operation for a million or so years, so such an event happened on average about once a century.

Brea means pit. So La Brea Tar Pits is redundant.

Why do I know so much useless information?

Another animal trap is located just south of the Black Hills in South Dakota, dozens of mastadons/mammoths were trapped in a water pit. Was discovered recently when the area was to be leveled for a building.Area is now enclosed in a shed, and digging continues.

All I want to know is exactly how the plains Indians got all those Buffalo to jump off those cliffs.(isn’t there a leader of the herd that’s smart enough to keep that from happening?)

“Fittest” is fine.Further, science which stands or falls based on politics is not science.
