A few years ago I was riding my bike to work on the sidewalk. As I approached an exit from a parking lot I noticed a car coming out and realized that he wasn’t going to stop before he crossed the sidewalk, I slammed on my braes and realized that I wasn’t going to stop before I was right in front of him (it was an old bike with poor brakes) and I knew he was going to hit me. To this day I don’t know how it happened, but the next second I was standing flat footed on the sidewalk watching the car as it ran over my bike.
