    Pure ammonia works well and doesn’t hurt the plants like salt.

    As already mentioned, although salt can kill these mollusks, if you use it in your garden, it increases the salinity of the soil and eventually nothing will grow! Ammonia is effective, and as it breaks down it adds nitrogen to the soil; sort of a win win situation…
