Chesley Sullenberger was a true hero who saved a plane full of people. Even if you look at it from the point of view that he was just saving his own behind he still took a plane full of people with him and made sure they were all safe.
Pop reference humor works better if referring to recent news. Reading this twenty years from now would require an internet search ( and today for some apparently).
