I used to go grocery shopping with my dad when I was very young. It was GREAT! I could get him to buy all the otherwise forbidden goodies that mom would not allow. I still don’t know why mom let us go without her. ?:-)
It doesn’t take two adults in a store to do what one can do just as easily. Don’t double the covid risk to yourselves and to others, get in, get what you need and get out. Shopping is no longer a fun passtime.
In the old days – before husband quit his job around 15 years ago – I did the food shopping on Mondays while he was at work. I learned the first time he had a work vacation if he came with me, we bought nothing (“I don’t feel that like tonight” – “But we are shopping for the week and I am buying it now as it is on sale and we will have it when we want it.”)
When he quit his job it was agreed we would run errands separately and he would not come food shopping. We had gotten to the point that we shopped for food one day or maybe two days at most at time unless a big snow storm was coming.

I don’t see a list at all just the receipt. Make a list and stick to it. Period….that’s the way we stay on budget.

First rule of grocery shopping: never do it on an empty stomach.
