I would say take her time to know some things and find something she really likes, or buy something she already had in mind (but according to the dialogue there is nothing she had in mind already). Then again, if she is looking for different things and she likes the doors, she may want to check things like sonic youth (goo), or some oldies like the cult/southern death cult, which she may or may not know already. You are not missing much on the new bands. Most of them I call “Screamers”. They start their songs softly and after the first verse the screams start .Also most of the songs have only three cords. Only ones I personally like: Jason Mraz and Cake.

or you could borrow the cd from the library and….use the iTunes gift card for something not so easily found.
