When you are knee deep in junk, you shouldn’t be talking about “tidy”. We are way beyond not tidy here. (I’ve been meaning to say that for a couple of days.)
I liked the comment from yesterday where the Mom cleans up the room with trashcan in hand. Throw the things he likes away and I’ll bet you don’t have to ask him to clean it again.
My sister and I had to clean our mom’s house after she had a stroke and the fascist commie pinko fire marshal declared it a hazard (because as you know government can’t do anything right). She was not thrilled, but we had warned her before about hoarding, and how the unelected bureaucrats would come down on her if she didn’t stop. Perhaps we should have sent her to military school before it reached that point. The authoritarians seem to think it solves all problems, anyway.

Betty could have responded, “How old was Adam when you decided he was your hero?”

Is he a teenager yet? He’ll never clean up his room. but he would be better off if he learned to now.

I remember a time in my misspent youth when I maintained a neat house. Thank dog I grew out of it…!
