Doesn’t it depend on the state? Some states tax on the pre discount price, or used to anyway. That always seemed unfair to me.

    100-25=75

    75% of 80 = 60

    105% of 60 = 63

    The answer is $63.

Why would anyone pay that much for a pair of tennis shoes? Mine cost $30, at full price, and they’re just fine.

The question is, will the sales tax be percentage of the discounted price or the original price?

my logic in math questions: John wants to buy 76,562 bags of buns. In each bag, there are 1,783 buns. Each bun costs 1.3456$. They are on a price increase of 1$ each day since New Year 1963. The date today is April 1, 1994. Plus, there is a discount of 20% off today. How much will it cost him, and how much change will he get if he pays in whole number bills?
