No great loss. Not one of the better episodes.

Heās got to have one of the least efficient brains ever. That knowledge about the cotton gin takes up as much as 44 minutes of mediocre science fiction, in living color!

There was something like that in Dilbert some time ago. I donāt remember when. Humm, maybe if I forget how much is two plus twoā¦.

I should have realized that people would know exactly what episode that was! I used to watch that show years ago and recently re-watched a couple episodes on netflix. Pretty cheesy.

You are right, in one of the early Holmes stories, Watson is astonished to discover that Sherlock doesāt know that the earth revolved around the sun! And Holmes explained that since that information was useless to him as a detective, he would, now that he knew it, try to forget it as soon as possible!
But I think Holmes may have just been pulling Watsonās leg. He was known to do that.

Like The Lovinā Spoonful used to sing: Did you ever have to make up your mind/to pick up on one and leave the other one behind/itās not often easy, and not often kind/did you ever have to make up your mindā¦ā¦ā¦.??

Thatās not true, Nate. I can remember what happens in every book I read, every movie I watch, everything I learn at school, and how to spell any word I see in a book as long as I have seen it at least twice. I still have room for more!

The Cotton Gin lead directly to the Civil War because of the huge increase in slaves that was needed. Okay, of course, because as the spinners tell us, the slaves were happy in their bondage. Oh, and the Civil War was NOT about slavery, it was about āstates rightsā. It must be so because I heard it from the wingnuts.

I always thought the cotton gin got its name when the inventor told his wife to āKeep your cotton-picking hands off my gin.ā

Star Trek? You can live without it. You CANāT live without The Simpsons, Family Guy, Modern Family, and other comedies

I totally agree with you, ghostkeeper. Sherlock had the same theory and thus dismissed Watsonās telling him that the earth revolves around the sun because it has nothing to do with his line of work.

Now thatās a pile that really needs to be purged!

Iām exactly like Nate, well, sort of. I mean, whenever I try to focus on something important, some OTHER random thing will come across my mind and I forget what I was concentrating on. Really frustrating. .

The brain can store 1 terabyte of information. It would take 300 years for the brain to reach maximum capacity
