Really weird, Nate! I think Nate is the best name for you. Ethan doesn’t seem right! (Or should I say Wright? Haha!)

I once had to give a paper in front of my class about what name I could have had. Somehow, I had interpreted the facts incorrectly and I told the class my parents had considered “Leroy” as a name. No they hadn’t but it still makes me laugh to this day.

Ethan is Nate spelt backward plus an H.

My sister was named after both grandparents, but in variants like this arc: Fanny to Frances and Jane to Jean. She went through as stage when we never knew which one, or both, she was using that day.

This is probably a scene where licoln pierce sublety talks to the reader that when first creating his characters he was deciding between Nate and Ethan to name his main character.

I wonder if Mr. Peirce was thinking about naming Nate Ethan, or if he just made that up.

FUN FACTS: when lincoln peirce created nate in high school, he was a side character. the main characters name was:

Ethan.

If you take out the h in Ethan and write it backwards, it spells out Nate. Maybe that’s where Marty and Nate’s unnamed mother came up with Nate after Ethan.
