Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for November 20, 2019

Well since chose your own adventures are the new “trend” and i seem to be the only one slightly bothered, i guess i’ll switch sides. The only difference is, when i do one (very occasionally) i will make it relevant to the strip.

I am doing my first one today (this comment) Another difference is i won’t only just continue tomorrow using the most popular answer, i’ll continue it for ALL of the answers, so the story can branch out in so many different ways!

Here it is. (You can pretend to be Nate OR Yourself!) Chad is staying over for a sleepover, and it’s time for bed. Marty / Your dad Shuts the door and you lie there in the dark for half an hour. Time has passed and eventually Chad says “Psst, hey! I can’t sleep and watching tv sometimes helps!” You reply: “I’d love to watch TV But we might get into trouble.” Silence, Chad thinks for a moment. “We could ask?” He questions. “I dunno..” you reply back, its a bit risky.

Do you A: Sneak Down stairs and put on cartoons and eat snacks.B: Go into Marty / Your dad’s room and ask if you can watch TV Because Chad can’t sleep. C: Tell Chad to try to fall asleep more and continue to lie there.

I think that the biggest weakness of the Big Nate strip is the anticlimactic way in which the story arcs come to an end – they continually just end up going nowhere after a promising and intriguing start. The story arc with Arthur and Jenny was rendered completely pointless by its disappointing ending, and yet it had such tremendous potential. If Big Nate is to improve, Mr Peirce should study the way in which his inspiration Charles Schulz would bring a story arc to an end.

I am tired of being so aware of Nate’s shirt.

choose your own adventure continued Marcus unlocks the locker that you are in. While he’s doing it, you decide to take off the dog nuzzle off the dog. “This is going to be sweet!” Marcus whispers. He opens the locker, and the dog jumps on him, biting him in the arm. You quickly dash the other way as far as your legs can take you.“AHHHHHHHH! Get that KID!” Marcus yells Marcus and his friends run after you. after 5 minutes there about to catch up to you, you see a big crowd watching the T.V in the commons because of its free hour. What would you do?A) Blend into the crowd B) run through the crowd C) Watch T.V D) Ask Big Chungas E) Your Choice

Hmmmm…the last time I saw “HRK!!” in a comic strip was when a mouse was heaving into Jon’s coffee cup in a many-moons-ago Garfield strip…….Ha! HA!! HA!!!

chad is like “nothing’s wrong” in the first panel. Haha!

How many reruns does pierce have in store. Now I understand If he has deadlines and is doing reruns to have extra time, but there have only been 2 rerun sections in 1 year (average). I say the less the better

Hey! It’s make your own adventure time! Let’s say you are Nate Wright, and Randy Betancourt(did I spell that wrong?) just stuffed you into a locker(not yours, because then you wouldn’t fit) and Francis gets you out of the locker a minute later. You see Randy outside without his group of friends before he walks home, do you:

A: Get into a fight with him, risking getting both of you in trouble?

B: Ignore him and pretend it didn’t happen

C: Be passive agressive and start to anonymously Prank him and shame him?

Did anyone notice that either chad moved the table, or the force of gravity moved the cup of milk
