It’s really the teacher’s fault. Why would she allow Nate to care for this rodent in HER home? It would have been simpler, (and obviously SMARTER), to give him the cage to take to his OWN house. At $200 for a replacement, I would ‘fess up. I also think, after this accident, I would take it upon myself to take the critter home lest I do any more damage to the teacher’s house.
Yep, I knew it. And the broken vase isn’t worth much at all. This is just like a short story about a lost “diamond” necklace. The family worked for ten years to pay off replacing it only to finally discover that the original necklace was a common one with fake jewels.

I bet this will end in Nate saying Oh How I hate her.

Next strip is either going to be him stressing about the 200, or him dropping this one.

If this turns out to be a monthlong arc, and the rest of it is just Nate trying to get $200…

I knew the cost would be part of the problem! And even more so if the unbought vase breaks as well

As if Nate has a $200 allowance. Also as if his father would raise the allowance.

The vase was more skinnier and taller the last time I saw it. And he can’t get out of this, he has to just tell Mrs Godfrey,

200 DOLLARS?!?! Figured this might happen. Getting kind of predictable. But 200 dollars is CRAZY! Anyway, here’s today’s quote:
The bravest thing you can be is yourself.
