True. It is true that teachers are all sunshiny on the first day.

Mr. Peirce said in one of his Epic Big Nate comments that everything can’t be all sunshine and lollipops and rainbows everywhere, and that’s where villains come in, whether Nate has to face his everyday struggles with the teachers, or when PS38 have their sport battles against Jefferson.

Nate doesn’t realize how easy he has it. When he’s an adult, he’ll wish he was middle school again. I’m 20 years old and I wish I was in middle school again sometimes
