Francis and Teddy being excited for Nate about something is a nice change of pace from their usual mockery.

I had a feeling we’d still see their reaction, but let’s see if anyone can predict tomorrow’s strip: I’m gonna say that since it’s Wednesday (and thus, about halfway through the arc), tomorrow they (or maybe even an arriving Dee Dee) encourage Nate to go for it. It would let him either talk to her on Thursday with a joke then big heartwarming moment on Friday, or talk on both Thursday and Friday then big heartwarming moment on Saturday

Y’know, I’m surprised this strip was even allowed to be posted. Nowadays you can’t put as much stuff in strips as you used to. Like in a strip in 1991, Nate mentions the naughty naughty reproduce, but that wouldn’t be allowed nowadays
