Where is everybody anyways. Well….if anybody ever shows up they can have their choice between a ham and egg strata or a sausage casserole. I have mashed potatos patties, homemade wheat bread. I have orange marmalade, strawberry freezer jam and peach/ plum jam. I have fresh blackberries ( the first of the season). raspberries, strawberries, the last of the blueberries and scones. DoctorT’s nuclear coffee, Apple cider and cranberry juice. For the adventurous, I have greyhounds (vodka & grapefruit juice), capecodders and bloody marys.
Good morning and Happy Saturday!! Not that many posts after the comic switch. cleo thanks for breakfast. I’m hoping to be on more today. Need to find out why my other computer doesn’t like gocomics anymore. I have my suspicions, so running a full, non-connected to the internet virus scan on that computer this morning.
Off to my toonland merry-go-round. I didn’t get much of a chance to comment on any of yesterday’s comics due to RL. Today I’ve got time before my son’s football game.
Goodness, either I’m really early or everyone is really tired. Too many posts yesterday for me to even try, I have much to do today. Hate it when RL intrudes.
But it’s a good intrustion, I have my beadwork—primarily snowflakes and chunky necklaces—on sale at a local beadstore. I am one of the ‘featured artists’ for Sept-Nov. and am thrilled I was asked. I literally stumbled into this, Tribe. I heard a new bead shop had opened and I needed wax and I went there hoping they would have some wax (the one place I know carries it regularly is a little far to go unless I’m absolutely desperate). The owner and I got to talking and I showed her my snowflakes. They weren’t even stiffened yet, but she loved them and offered me the gig.
So off to RL. But here are some Krispy Kreams. Enjoy
im off to a weekend of house cleaning. the guys have not steped up and taken care of it them selfs yet. and it looks like a train passed threw it. i get up early and leave for school, i get home late do hw, cook, walk (if im lucky) hw, bahte save dishes (if im luckuy and bro washed them he does a terrible job) then bed. wake up the next day do it all over again. so college has taken its tool on my house. well now that i have bored u all with that im off to work. bbml peace and love all

Doc I also came across NewsOk.com which has several strips as well. I read Creators Syndicate for Dogs of C Kennnel and Cafe Con Leche, but there again, I am way behind!
College–Illinois & Northwestern(go figure), Pittsburgh, Penn State & Notre Dame!
NFL–Bears(go figure again), Steelers, Fish, Boys, Falcons & now the Vikings(yes, I’m a Favre fan) unless they play the Bears!

Hey all,
Can’t stick around, or post much for the rest of the week, (limited internet access), but I think it goes without saying that I am a wolverine’s fan, and I like the lions, I suppose, but I really like the Baltimore Ravens.
I haven’t seen any ohio state fans, so I think I can still come here. LOL
Joy, Western was just down the road from me too, but I sure don’t want them to win today!
Good Morning/Afternoon Johnny. Sorry to hear about the limited internet access and BT posting this upcoming week! At least try to stop by and say “Hey”.
Terry - My wife and I are really looking forward to the trip to VA & DC. It will be my wife’s first trip. DC will be tough for her though because there is always a lot of walking involved and it is tough enough for a person that doesn’t have physical issues. Hopefully the Smithsonian will have some wheelchairs available.
@cleo, I’m pretty sure they do, although there are a lot of separate museums involved in the Smithsonian. Over a dozen, I think… [research] …10 or 11 on the Mall, plus the affiliated National Gallery of Art, and gosh-how-many elsewhere in the city, in New York, Virginia…
Personal favorites: Freer Gallery, National Gallery of Art (several rooms in particular), and Natural History, especially the room with the Hope Diamond, but for the other items there, especially that exquisite jade vase.
hi tribe
nice to see from joy and johnny again. both mentioned Western Michigan University. that was my second road trip to see my nephew play soccer for SUNY @ Buffalo (U@B, as they refer to it). MAC semi-finals. We watched game one, which featured WMU, and then our game was set to start after. We (my Dad and my Sister - the lad’s Mom) figured, “No way he spots us in this crowd.” WMU game ended, crowd jumped on field to celebrate the win and then disappeared. Three of us sitting in the stands with maybe a half dozen more folks as U@B walks on to take warm ups. Stuck out like a sore thumb!
they lost by a goal but it was a great time for us in Kalamazoo.
i never did get to the Smithsonian when i was in DC in May. i spent too much energy the first day i was there walking up and down the mall, photographing monuments and the White House and other things (on Pennsylvania Avenue, too) like the Old Post Office and the Canadian Embassy. my poor arthritic knees just couldn’t face a second day of walking, so i decided to give it a miss. one day, i’ll go back to check it out - especially “Air and Space” and “The American Indian.”
hi Terry, Dry, bmonk & cleo
just going to do a quick check of the toons. i have to be at the nieces party in a bit over an hour, but will definitely be back tonight. did a quick catch up on yesterday before i started today, so i know i missed some good tunes. i especially like the Chuck Berry and the QMS.
Belated g’morgen to all, The Smithsonian requires a week or two to do it justice. There’s just too much to see. Better to do 2-3 hours at a time, and then rest up before taking another bite to chew.
We did much the same with the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago: start off in a different direction each visit, so over the course of 5 or 6 you got to see most of what they had. By then, of course, there were new exhibits in the old rooms, or little nooks you had overlooked, especially in the stairways. Always something new, or something you hadn’t seen in ten years.
I agree that you want to save a lot of time for the Smithsonian! I remember my parents took me to Washington D.C when I was 15, but they only allowed one day for that city! I’ve never made it back, but I would love to spend a week or more there, since I’m a history buff.
Hello Everyone!
Looks like Dusty is about to be quartered.
I read all of last nights posts, you bunch of yappy nuts!
I did enjoy the great tunes, thank you.
Have to catch up on some comics now, BBL.
Boy, it’s picked up since this morning. Only skimmed the comments, so no idea what’s going on. comic rounds have been slowed down because of comics.com and my other machine still doesn’t like gocomics (can’t say I blame it). If I can figure out why I’ll post more otherwise, I’ll try for tonight’s party.
Hello!

((DAWN)) ((SHIKA)) ((BIGG)) ((DF)) ((RedHatt)) ((Requin))
You too, wherever you are!
Whew!
We’ll be out all day, just wanted to say Hi to everyone.
Carmy I’m with you and Lonewolf!
I thought I’d try it, just this once, to list everyone, but WHEW!
I think it’s going to be “Everyone” or “All” or “Tribe” from now on!
Off to enjoy the day, hope everyone else has fun today!
As of 4:35 p.m. Eastern, CdotC is still down. Thought it was just me, but knew I could find the answer somewhere in the Pibgorn comments. There’s nothing this crew doesn’t know (except what is going to happen next in the Pibverse).
Good afternoon all. I see bmonk beat me to saying CdotC still down. Ah, well.
I’ve been to D.C. several times (about 4 hours away from me). The Smithsonian takes a while. Don’t miss the American History Museum, especially the old fashioned ice cream parlor therein (at least I hope it’s still there). The Zoo is also a good place to go. The Metro is clean and safe. Goes near most places. Probably the farthest stop is the Zoo and that’s 3-4 blocks.
Thanks, bmonk and saucy! I’m trying some links I have saved, but rarely used, to see if I can find the strips I read there somewhere else - at least for today. Comics.com does seem to carry more in color than some of the other sites. But better in B&W than not at all!
Hi everyone. I just stopped in for a moment to see who was here. I just got some really bad news so I don’t know how much I’ll be in during the next few days. But I don’t want anyone to think I got lost.
I want to withdraw a huge amount from the bank. I don’t want to take anyone elses share but I could really use it now.
It seems another deposit to the tribal bank of goodwill is warranted…not that it ever runs out but since I seem to have had more than my share of happiness lately, I’ll happily share with those who would like it.
hi Tribe (i don’t think i could possibly list all of you unless i typed for twenty minutes. kudo’s to Ma’at.)
Serena, i’ll send a few good thoughts into the ether for you, and for anyone else who needs them, as well.
this is just a brief “stop by” between niece’s party and dinner, but i had to say hello. will try to be back later on tonight, but if the weather stays clear i might go out to try some night photography, again. we’ll see.
Serena I hope all goes well for you whatever the bad news is. I am going thru something too, so I can empathize (speliing) and wish you strength and guidance.
too bad you can’t play. it might be nice to have around the fire pit. i guess we’ll have to settle for the good tunes that MoPar and others keep finding for us to link to. (i wish i knew how to do that, i love listening when i have time.)
((((((Serena)))))) large deposit of good karma in the bank to cover your withdrawals. Best wishes for the quick and acceptable solution to the problem.
Haven’t sold anything yet, but the display looks great. And they’ve only been out a few days.
bleeep that comics.com, I hate having to go backwards to catch up!!
Got to go finish up some beadwork. Good night to all.
Carmy Tell me about it! I’m glad I get some of them in email! If you saw my earlier post, my inbox is filled with comics.com and dailyink! I am so far behind I may just have to read my VERY best favorites, and even that list is LONG! And I have been following Dogs of C Kennel on Creators syndicate, but I have to be 2 weeks behind becasue of everything going on. I wish gocomics would get all my faves!
Dry, it would be nice to get them all here on gocomics. I haven’t been to comicsdotcom in forever. That site is always so slow, i dread going on there especially if I’m behind.
i find that my link to yahoo comics is a day behind, today. i usually read only about a half dozen strips there, but i like some of them too much to miss out when i’m catching up on everything else. especially since i’m likely to fall behind again tomorrow when i go golfing and plane watching instead of comic reading and communig with the tribe
i’ll pop in to say hi, but i don’t know how much time i’ll have.
speaking of time, i’m going to have to bug out for some supper. soccer game starts at 10 pm EST, and i hope toronto fc can do well against colorado. it’s only MLS, but it’s a local league, and i’m going to see the rematch next week, live in stadium. been looking forward to it all summer. be back later (maybe). if not, good thoughts to all those who need them.
good for them, Terry, and good for you to help out. parents volunteering time is what makes children’s sports programs work. (i speak from many years of experience.)
Hi, Tribe Hows everyone doing? I really like your Avatar, Terry. JFri, You should keep the Vader Helm, it’s so you. I found one for that pirate when he tries to go up against the Techies.
I saw that Dry, I changed it while you were composing… The rain moved right by us here in North Houston. We got lots of thunder but very little moisture.
I tried to catch up, but had some interuptions, so here I am, with just a foggy idea that we’ve had some pleasant and not so poeasant things happen while I was gone. I must remember nest time I travel to write down my password for this site. I use the “remember me” feature on my sites so that I don’t have to remember any passwords.
Hi Carmy!
Thanks for the virtual hug, Lonewolf! Today’s actually been a great day, but I’ll store it up for later this week when my in-laws fly in from FL. I’ll really need it then!
You know it is college football game day and a good one is going on here at the Georgia Dome, Alabama vs VA Tech. 17-16 at the half. So I am missing some football to join this Tribe!!!
I had a great time! It is a beautiful part of Quebec, near the Gatineau River that I was staying. My Friend Jullie and her husband work in Ottawa, which is a half hour commute form their home.
The four children were in school, so I had the house to myself, along with a Husky/Malamute named Nukka, and two cats: a calilco named Milou, and a black cat named Bilaloulise (I think!).
I took Nukka for walks in the morning and made a friend for life.
Shika, you’re welcome. I didn’t get to help with the waking one time because I conked out too early.
I think I relayed hugs to him for you. I know I definitely got in some hiney pinches.
I swam in their pool- noone else would- it was too cold (70oF), but I am used to swimming in Geogian Bay in water that was at times about 65 oF. We also walked down to the Gatineau river.
I loved visiting, sipping coffee on the back deck with my friend and hearing French again.
Her daughter Elyse is a budding cartoonist, so I am encouraging her her keep drawing.
MoPar - I am literally living in a party zone. My wife’s two 20 somethings just got back from a summer of fishing in Alaska and brought a bunch of friends over for dinner and cocktails. Believe it or not Bluegrass is the new cool music, so I have hauled down my bluegrass CDs. The one I am playing now I actually bought at a Smithsonian gift shop. Here is a taste.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXkwthWiMFk#
Shika - Your dream sounds like where I live. Except our dog and cats are all gone now. If we weren’t planning to move in the next few years, maybe we’d consider getting some new pets, but right now we’re without any. We have enough trees around us, that when the leaves are on, we can’t see our neighbors. Our driveway is on the cul-de-sac, and a farm access road leads off from there to down around the bottom of the cliff to a field across the railroad tracks. Our house sits on top of the hill, the cliff is our western property line. The farm access road cuts through a wood that is so thick you can’t see through even when there aren’t leaves. Lots of wildlife: deer, squirrels, birds, snakes, jackrabbits, skunks, opossums, armadillos, turtles, toads, raccoons…that’s all I can recall at the moment, if we’re not counting spiders & insects. Oh, and a river runs alongside the railroad tracks, except when it makes a horseshoe bend around the field. Does that sound like what you imagine?
CarmyWolfangil laughed when she saw the “keep the guys under control”. She says “you girls must not know me too well” and when you girls figure out how to keep me under control, let her know! LOL
Marg, last night I fell asleep right after dinner and I was fully dressed. I slept for 12 hours plus. Today, I got in a 2 hour nap. I’m rested alright.
My husband and I are taking a class in Lapidary Arts at the local college on Wednesday nights. We cut and polished our first stones, and went to open lab this afternoon to finish them up. We had rock club this morning, and had a great speaker who talked baout wilderness survival. The thing that kills the most people is hypothermia. This can occur even in FL.
Wolfangil says she has been “working” on it for 12 years now. She says she now has learned to spend her time more wisely. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. (Got to find the meaning to that one) lol
I forgot to tell Shika to see if she can get some “Ocean Potion.” We use that here in FL for sunburn. It has aloe vera and it works really good. It feels like ice when you put in on. BRRRRRRRRR!
Ah heck, I knew I’d forget people today!
(((Serena))) extra hug
((Saucy))
((Rad))
Whew! (again!) I think I’ll stick to everyone!
BIG deposit in the bank for those in need:
Goodnight all! My husband and I have a big day tomorrow and I need to get rested up! Yap at you tomorrow if I can.
My computer froze, guess it couldn’t handle all the groovy tunes. I had to re-start. While I was waiting on that, I started cleaning my closet. YES, I am a multi-tasker!

And then there’s…

I love the Smithsonian!
yyyguy about 15 years ago
hi tribe nice to see from joy and johnny again. both mentioned Western Michigan University. that was my second road trip to see my nephew play soccer for SUNY @ Buffalo (U@B, as they refer to it). Stuck out like a sore thumb! they lost by a goal but it was a great time for us in Kalamazoo.
yyyguy about 15 years ago
also nice to see the pirate and quaby - don’t want to leave them out.

Hi yyyguy
yyyguy about 15 years ago
i never did get to the Smithsonian when i was in DC in May. i spent too much energy the first day i was there walking up and down the mall, photographing monuments and the White House and other things (on Pennsylvania Avenue, too) like the Old Post Office and the Canadian Embassy. my poor arthritic knees just couldn’t face a second day of walking, so i decided to give it a miss. one day, i’ll go back to check it out - especially “Air and Space” and “The American Indian.”

yyyguy about 15 years ago
hi Terry, Dry, bmonk & cleo just going to do a quick check of the toons. i have to be at the nieces party in a bit over an hour, but will definitely be back tonight. did a quick catch up on yesterday before i started today, so i know i missed some good tunes. i especially like the Chuck Berry and the QMS.
bmonk about 15 years ago
Belated g’morgen to all, The Smithsonian requires a week or two to do it justice. There’s just too much to see. Better to do 2-3 hours at a time, and then rest up before taking another bite to chew.
We did much the same with the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago: start off in a different direction each visit, so over the course of 5 or 6 you got to see most of what they had. By then, of course, there were new exhibits in the old rooms, or little nooks you had overlooked, especially in the stairways. Always something new, or something you hadn’t seen in ten years.
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
I agree that you want to save a lot of time for the Smithsonian! I remember my parents took me to Washington D.C when I was 15, but they only allowed one day for that city! I’ve never made it back, but I would love to spend a week or more there, since I’m a history buff.

Hello Everyone! Looks like Dusty is about to be quartered. I read all of last nights posts, you bunch of yappy nuts! I did enjoy the great tunes, thank you. Have to catch up on some comics now, BBL.

Good Afternoon Carmy! Yes we are Yappy for sure.

hi Carmy i’m not “yappy” any more. time for me to go and eat birthday cake. be back later, if time permits. gone.
Akenta about 15 years ago
Boy, it’s picked up since this morning. Only skimmed the comments, so no idea what’s going on. comic rounds have been slowed down because of comics.com and my other machine still doesn’t like gocomics (can’t say I blame it). If I can figure out why I’ll post more otherwise, I’ll try for tonight’s party.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
All that education and you haven’t figured out that answer yet, Mopar?

From Pibgorn comments:

As of 4:35 p.m. Eastern, CdotC is still down. Thought it was just me, but knew I could find the answer somewhere in the Pibgorn comments. There’s nothing this crew doesn’t know (except what is going to happen next in the Pibverse).
Saucy1121 Premium Member about 15 years ago
Good afternoon all. I see bmonk beat me to saying CdotC still down. Ah, well.
I’ve been to D.C. several times (about 4 hours away from me). The Smithsonian takes a while. Don’t miss the American History Museum, especially the old fashioned ice cream parlor therein (at least I hope it’s still there). The Zoo is also a good place to go. The Metro is clean and safe. Goes near most places. Probably the farthest stop is the Zoo and that’s 3-4 blocks.
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Thanks, bmonk and saucy! I’m trying some links I have saved, but rarely used, to see if I can find the strips I read there somewhere else - at least for today. Comics.com does seem to carry more in color than some of the other sites. But better in B&W than not at all!
serenasakitty about 15 years ago
Hi everyone. I just stopped in for a moment to see who was here. I just got some really bad news so I don’t know how much I’ll be in during the next few days. But I don’t want anyone to think I got lost. I want to withdraw a huge amount from the bank. I don’t want to take anyone elses share but I could really use it now.

I loved visiting, sipping coffee on the back deck with my friend and hearing French again.

Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago

Auto repair business and my son’s football game were priorities today.

Marg, last night I fell asleep right after dinner and I was fully dressed. I slept for 12 hours plus. Today, I got in a 2 hour nap. I’m rested alright.

She says Hi! to all of you girls. She knows you all almost as well as I do!!

Tell Wolfangil we’re working on it. I have every confidence in Carmy and Dry to do so!
Meanwhile, you guys should see my red lobster legs. I forgot sunscreen on them,; so the rest of me is fine, but my legs definately got too much sun.
Marg sorry you got rain. This sun I had this weekend was the best of the summer. Pure heaven to see blue skys.
Enough of my Shika now, Peace and love!

Wolfangil says she has been “working” on it for 12 years now. She says she now has learned to spend her time more wisely. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. (Got to find the meaning to that one) lol

Shika, sorry about your lobster legs. Have a good night.

Marg, wilderness survival is a great thing to know, especially where you live.
margueritem about 15 years ago
You know, this is hard work trying to keep up with all of these posts. I’m going to have to take a shower and cool off now.
carmy about 15 years ago
That’s because we’re all yappy nuts,Marg!
carmy about 15 years ago
I forgot to tell Shika to see if she can get some “Ocean Potion.” We use that here in FL for sunburn. It has aloe vera and it works really good. It feels like ice when you put in on. BRRRRRRRRR!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
I had survival training in the military and you would be surprised at what is at hand to survive in different situations.

I could have guessed that one for sure!
carmy about 15 years ago
My computer froze, guess it couldn’t handle all the groovy tunes. I had to re-start. While I was waiting on that, I started cleaning my closet. YES, I am a multi-tasker!
carmy about 15 years ago
Yeah, JFri. That was a no-brainer.
