Happy Friday TRIBE! I have to find a place to hide lobster and roses. Hopefully not in the same bag.

Good morning all. Back to work after two snow days. My lovely female accomplice and her daughter enjoyed it, but they weren’t the ones who spent 8 or 9 hours shoveling. Amazingly, at 52, I don’t feel too bad after moving something like 15 tons of snow with just a shovel. I will have breakfast though, One of those ribeyes sounds good, and the eggs benedict (with extra hollandaise please), and a nice big helping of grits, smothered in fresh creamery butter. And a Coke and a smile, please :-)

@cleo, do you know what kind of hardwood the floors are? We have a variety, from oak and even walnut to a gym with, I think, basswood? Something that changes size a lot as the temp changes anyway.

I hope you all have a heart…especially this weekend, for your sweetie-pie.

bunnyface our floors are a light colored oak. I just now finished vacuuming and washing the floors with a product meant for the Swedish surface mixed with water. I am now waiting for the floors to dry before I put on the reconditioner, which has got to sit for 24 hours before furniture is brought in. Tomorrow our new couch and love seat are delivered in the afternoon so I am on a time crunch here.

Too many of the Tribe are off or without power to be a yappy bunch anymore?

Taking a break from work, and I see that C&H and Garfield have more comments than Big Top. What is this world coming to?

I don’t know, LuvH8. It would depend a lot on who found it, I think. Like anyone else, religious orders have a variety of attitudes and personalities among their members. Some might find it amusing, others would get rather upset, I think.

Slow around here or what. I just finished doing a coat on reconditioning my floors and watching the last half or the Hurt Locker. Where is everybody, buried in snow?

I think the idea is amusing, but to actually do it probably would not be. Especially if you surprised someone, I was just curious because the only imput I’ve had was by teens. (It may be fortunate none of them attend church, in this particular case.)

Hi Lonewolf - Did you see the really lame dirty joke I left on Animal Crackers yesterday? I love that one because I can proceed it with “Do you want to hear a dirty joke?”

A random thoughts: 1.God made us, so he has seen it all .2. It’s not an edifying thought to put down, so I wouldn’t do it.

LuvH8 I work in a convenience store and part of my job is cleaning the restrooms. I’ve often wanted to put up signs,but that would be about the mildest one. Of course I never would, but it’s nice to think about.

Shika, I am a bit burnt out at the moment. I spent too much time trying to figure out a program that is useless to me outside of the homework assignment I am doing. So in spite of the fact that I spent hours working on a homework assignment, I finished about half of it, and am not in the mood to try and get more done. Maybe later.

@LuvH8, I hesitate to get too deeply into religion here–see the rules of the Tribe–but I think that we can get a better vision of Christ either by getting beyond the denominational hatreds and restrictions, or by plunging so deeply into the one we have that we come to a true, personal relationship, and to a real appreciation fo the Gospel he tried to show us.

Shika I wish that you could see our place as well. It is a beautiful place. We live on a little hill with a little canyon behind our place with a creek running through it, behind that is a forest. Our side yard is a beautiful flower garden that my wife designed. Beside that is a bank that climbs up to a small deck that I call my cigar deck and beneath that is a patio. In the front we have a deck connected to the house that drops down to a small patio and our hot tub. We have a rock wall that runs the length of our front yard which is grass and is a regulation size croquet court, plus another little bank that has a large fire pit. And all of this overlooks our lake.

Really beautiful cleo You paint a lovely picture of your place. You and LilG are lucky indeed.

Cleo I hear ya’ dude! I think of things I want done or projects I’d like to do, start making notes, etc. and then somehow get side tracked, and well, you know the rest of the story! LOL! I’ve been wanting to re-do my bathroom for about 3 years now! something else always gets in the way!

Dry our projects list includes the upstairs bathroom, the kitchen, recarpeting our stairway and upstairs and the downstairs bathroom.

Cleo my house is MUCH smaller than yours, but I have ideas and things I would like to do. I would like to know how to find a good contractor, a person in business for themselves. We had a guy a couple years back who built a new front porch after a BLIZZARD (LOL) destroyed the original front porch. They did a GREAT job! He and his crew did all sorts of home remodeling, but he has since retired.

I feel pretty strongly about the no religion/politics rule. It does not take long for people to get riled on either topic and I would hate to see it dissolve our little happy family. I think if you remove the two subjects from any conversation it allows those of us with different beliefs to coexist and enjoy one another for our basic personalities and not what side of the fence we happen to straddle on more personal issues.

Well, LilG started dozing almost immediately. So I am back while she goes through her night time routine. Yes Dry you are a woman who can do wonders with Booker’s. Unfortunately the painting does not go well when mixed with Booker’s. Just sit in your easy chair and relax. Painting is hardly a task for someone of your social breeding. (Can you tell that we are watching an English period piece?)

Cleo LG is snoozing 5 minutes into the movie? ROFLMAO! Could she be my long lost sister or something? Of course, I usually do the opposite! I watch a movie the whole way through, and fall asleep during the last 10 minutes or so and then ask, “How did it end?” And usually, no one will TELL ME! LOL! Many times I have managed to stay awake for what started out to be a great movie, watched it the whole way through, only to have the ending STINK OUT LOUD!
