glad I can join y’all at last. so, in celebration, I’ll have some French toast and a few sausage links, and some of Doc’s famous COFFEE!!!
As for stories about Montana, LuvH8….we moved up here 4 years ago from a lifetime in So. California. Couldn’t stand the noise, traffic, vandalism, big city, etc. We would always vacation up here, so we decided to move up here and be in God’s country full time. We have very mild winters in Helena, and so far this summer, we’ve had only 4 days over 90 degrees!! Woo Hoo.
I enjoy everyone’s stories, and am glad to be welcomed in the Tribe. :_))))))
Grog If you knew how that sounds in my head in the morning…. kind of a cross between a fog horn and a wookie. It tickles me to no end. Sorry, but I amuse me and as my doc prescribes more meds, the little things have a more profound effect. I hope you don’t mind.
Ladyhawk - As she is in a video she is good at lip-synching. She must of sung it in a studio, although they can do a lot of things nowdays to improve it, hopfully they didn’t. It will be interesting to see if she developes into singing as a career. (I think her birthday is in April so she must of just turned 7 when this was made.)
I’m guessing she isn’t that good at lipsyncing and that she just sang it in all those locals with them filiming, and then they spliced it all together. I agree the soundtrack was done in studio. My daughter is 9 and she loves to sing, (and is pretty good too, if I can say so) but I also know how missing the two front teeth can alter the sound and pronunciation. That is more of why I am wondering if they altered the sounds some in studio.
Again, either way she is really good. The way she carries herself for the video is good, and you can tell from certain things that she really is a good singer overall also. Maybe one day that will be here career, or else her parents will burn her out before she gets there, who knows.
Ladyhawk - Yes, the lipsyncing probably was done a lot in production - I was jumping to conclusions! Her singing may of been done before losing the teeth? If not that is something I have wondered about. I had a cousin that had exceptional talent at a young age and became a world renouned concert violinist. Although some disagree, they discovered she had perfect pitch when she was 2 or 3. I enjoy seeing talent show up in young people.
I agree. Just curious - does your cousin still have perfect pitch? They determined my brother had perfect pitch when he was a young adult, but because he didn’t sing regularly, and didn’t use it, he no longer has that talent/skill.
Ladyhawk - She was my same age but died in her early thirties. I think she was two when my uncle brought a tuning fork over to show her. He struck it to make a sound. She ran up and said “what’s that, what’s that?” My uncle said “you don’t know what this is?” She answered “it’s A (the pitch) but what’s that?” She had never seen a tuning fork before!
Her perfect pitch allowed her to play the violin excellently. Her first year of high school she won a contest as the best violinest in high school and college in the USA! She recived a scholarship to Julliard and later taught there, etc.
I liked the stories about pitch the last little while.
I have pretty good pitch, but not perfect. More of a relative pitch, if I get the mode right when I start. OTOH, some members of the local choir have noted that I usually am very close to A or F when I start singing.

Bleep nagging cats.
When I first skimmed that comment, I thought you had said, “Blert nagging cats.”
For a moment I was sure you were channeling Robert Heinlein!
Sojo - My hubby used to (before I met him) work for a bread company. His truck’s defroster & heater didn’t work - he had to use candles to defrost his windshield….
Just last night my brother was telling me that they had an air-popper (remember them? Before microwave popcorn??) that they had not used for many years. They also had some pipes in an unheated space that tended to freeze when the cold hit. The first time or two they tried thawing the pipes with a hair dryer, but it didn’t work too well because the cold leaked in faster than the hair dryer could put out heat. So he was looking around for what might help when he saw the popcorn popper. It worked like a charm–they really pump out really hot air!
In fact, when that popper gave up the ghost a few years later, they found another “pipe heater” at a garage sale!
Hi bmonk - Glad to see you! I originally posted it a couple of days ago but reposted it and it should be in the comment just before your first comment a few min. ago. I just checked it and it still works.
BMonk - I also wish your dad and new bride all the best.
I’ll have to remember the popcorn popper when our pipes start freezing this winter. We usually use a space heater, but I wonder if the popper will direct the hot air better… hmmm.
Ladyhawk, it’s certainly worth a try. And probably no more expensive to run. I’d think the popper would project the heat better, since the fan is so much faster.
@Ladyhawk, it reminds me of what Dr. Gott says about some of the home remedies he’s learned about over the years–a bar of soap under the sheet for restless leg syndrome, or Vaporub for toenail fungus are a couple that come to mind. His theory: it may not help you, but it seems to help lots of people–and at $-0.45 or $2.50 a pop for the “medicine”, you really can’t afford not to give it a try…
Finally finished reading the comments from yestre.
Gee, here I thought that was a meteor shower. Oddly, the meteors were coming in lots of different colors–green, blue, pink, gold, orange. And they were diverging, not converging.
I think you guys overshot a bit–I hear that Minnesota is looking for the source of the damaging rockets from last night. They don’t know who to declare war on: the Idaho survivalists or the Oregon Greenies.
I was just walking back from the hot & muggy outdoors and I thought I heard Christmas music coming from our lab. I doubled back, walked in and sure enough The Jingle Bell Rock was playing on the radio.
I was told that the guy on the radio said something about Christmas in July. An attempt to make us feel cooler?
Hi Grog - It seems some stores start Christmas sales earlier every year. In retaliation I remember one store that had a 4th of July sale at Christmas time!
After comments had to go back and read about last nights events. Now I understand the “colorful meteor show” we had last night. At least that’s what i thought it was at the time…
How many guys had to go buy new shirts and towels today?
Bye Everyone! I’m off for an extended weekend. Get to see my brother and sister at the same time (hasn’t happened in almost 9 years, and about another 9 before that). Also having a reunion at the church I grew up at. 50 year Anniversary so there will be a number of people there I haven’t seen in 20 years or more.
Just wanted the TRIBE to know that after almost 3 weeks of living in the tropics, we got AC today complete with 21st century digital controls (Oooohh!). Didn’t get charged for asbestos removal either. I’m going to turn it down to 60, throw every blanket on the bed, and ask my lady to keep me warm. I should be in a better mood than I’ve been.
DOC Funny you should mention it but the only thing the NRC took from me was the coffee pipeline maps and 6 variations of your recipe, Hope you don’t mind that I gave you name, address and the names of your cats. They were from the government. They here to help.
Hello Ladywolf since it almost 10pm here I missed everyone again. I was going to ask **Sojourner in his neck of town if he had any rain today. Where I work at sprinkled, then afternoon saw a lot of clouds forming, canceled my walk when I got home after dinner and durn clouds didn’t do anything. And I need the exercise.
I’ve been trying to see about financial help from federal or state, if I can go to Jr. college. I’m surprised my lunch picture is still where I left it.
How are you I know you said tired, wish I was, been up every night until 1am not fun, I just read, my current book still have a way to go, then up at 7am. I don’t sleep through the night either.
I don’t know. **LuvH8 was taken by surprise. I had one on a different strip a while back based on a nice pretty BD cake and it disappeared. I guess someone thought it too big. But the sandwich I posted is too big and still there. She had a canon, fireworks, forest fire.
How many hours do you usually work and what type of work do you do? I remember you said you work on a ranch, I would think you are building up muscles and a nice tan when not in muck.
Are you trying to stay up to post your usual BT breakfast?
I may not be here when that is done.
It’s almost 10:30 pm here. Where in central time zone in KS. Ladywolf I think your more tired then you realize. I know you want to do breakfast but maybe you outa listen to your body and get some real rest. So good night to you young lady.
Let me be the first to welcome you then, I’m by far not the host of BT. There is Lonewolf, Ladywolf, Doctor Toon, LuvH8, etc. As you read you will find more.
I live way east of you in KS central part. There is one other lives in same town here and another further SE. We are on the same time frame.
For me I like some strips not all from gocomics for fun reading, and for a long time didn’t know about comments saw an example and wondered where they where coming from then found out one had to sign in. I’m currently reading a book and trying to decide when to turn in. After midnight someone posts a breakfast menu and not me.
Thanks…I usually comment and read 2 cows & Chicken and The Barn as well as a few others and l also didn’t realize there were comments for some time, Kab Buch.
See the Kansas City royals found another way to lose AGAIN! Bless them.
I’m glad I not the only one. As a mate of fact when I saw BT, DT to name those two It would scare me a little of all the comments posted, but as I started to read some not to long winded they looked like they had fun.
Ladywolf I hope you wear a helmet head cover. Snow skiers, and bull riders I’ve seen on tv do to protect head.
I think that’s where I’m heading Ladywolf looks like you have a picnic type meal. By the way advertising on TV looks like Yogi Bear and Boobo is having a movie coming up in theaters like type of chipmunks. I will wait until comes on CD, Movie tickets cost too much. Anyway it looks like fun, same way as the dog and cat movie.
That’s good but one never knows when they will get scared or spooked. What color are the horses are they mares, Standard brown or black. If only I was younger, I envy you young lady I could never get my body on a horse, and I use to ride a bike decades ago now to stiff.
I reached another chapter in my book, which I want to do each night maybe not chapter but get some pages turned, trying to get this monster finished. I have a whole lot more books to go.
Have fun and get some rest. I so envy you I know it’s a whole of hard work on a ranch but then you get some benifits of nice fresh air in the open. Office type one doesn’t just a lot of paperwork. I will try to catch this up Friday morning not as early as 3rd shifters. Nite

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONEGeorge Arnold over 14 years ago

Just wanted the TRIBE to know that after almost 3 weeks of living in the tropics, we got AC today complete with 21st century digital controls (Oooohh!). Didn’t get charged for asbestos removal either. I’m going to turn it down to 60, throw every blanket on the bed, and ask my lady to keep me warm. I should be in a better mood than I’ve been.

Doc - Seems any photo evidence (as if ther was any) is no longer around which would tend to show nothing happened from here!

Bye Doc - Have a good evening.

Hi Kab Buch. :-)
kab2rb over 14 years ago
How are you I know you said tired, wish I was, been up every night until 1am not fun, I just read, my current book still have a way to go, then up at 7am. I don’t sleep through the night either.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
**Luv8H had something really going last night too bad it was taken away, all very funny.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
What’s your gas prices in your area? Here it goes down a penny each day then springs up maybe 17cents.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
I’m pretty tired, but good to go. I don’t have to work tomorrow so I can relax.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Yeah! Why was it taken away?
kab2rb over 14 years ago
I don’t know. **LuvH8 was taken by surprise. I had one on a different strip a while back based on a nice pretty BD cake and it disappeared. I guess someone thought it too big. But the sandwich I posted is too big and still there. She had a canon, fireworks, forest fire.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
How many hours do you usually work and what type of work do you do? I remember you said you work on a ranch, I would think you are building up muscles and a nice tan when not in muck.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
Are you trying to stay up to post your usual BT breakfast? I may not be here when that is done. It’s almost 10:30 pm here. Where in central time zone in KS. Ladywolf I think your more tired then you realize. I know you want to do breakfast but maybe you outa listen to your body and get some real rest. So good night to you young lady.
hopeandjoy2 over 14 years ago
We had a hard rain and thunderstorm for 1/2 inch around 3:30 this p.m. SE of KCMO about 50 miles…it moved on East.
First time on this strip. A LOT of good comments!
10:35 here…Mountain time Zone starts around Goodland Kansas…Central East of there.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
Let me be the first to welcome you then, I’m by far not the host of BT. There is Lonewolf, Ladywolf, Doctor Toon, LuvH8, etc. As you read you will find more. I live way east of you in KS central part. There is one other lives in same town here and another further SE. We are on the same time frame.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
For me I like some strips not all from gocomics for fun reading, and for a long time didn’t know about comments saw an example and wondered where they where coming from then found out one had to sign in. I’m currently reading a book and trying to decide when to turn in. After midnight someone posts a breakfast menu and not me.

kab2rb over 14 years ago
Hey what are you enjoying on dinner.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Kab Buch I work a seven hour shift on a horse ranch.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
I wish I could in an office job, but you beat me you have a harder position. How many horses and are you alowed to ride any.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
I am enjoying Tater tots, hot dogs, and pork N’ Beans.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Any horse as long as I have a partner to be with. You never know what dangers may lie.
hopeandjoy2 over 14 years ago
Thanks…I usually comment and read 2 cows & Chicken and The Barn as well as a few others and l also didn’t realize there were comments for some time, Kab Buch.
See the Kansas City royals found another way to lose AGAIN! Bless them.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Yeah! It sucks when your team loses.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
I’m glad I not the only one. As a mate of fact when I saw BT, DT to name those two It would scare me a little of all the comments posted, but as I started to read some not to long winded they looked like they had fun.
Ladywolf I hope you wear a helmet head cover. Snow skiers, and bull riders I’ve seen on tv do to protect head.
hopeandjoy2 over 14 years ago
So it goes. Nite
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
The horses I ride are well mannered, I leave the tougher horses up to the big guys.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
I think that’s where I’m heading Ladywolf looks like you have a picnic type meal. By the way advertising on TV looks like Yogi Bear and Boobo is having a movie coming up in theaters like type of chipmunks. I will wait until comes on CD, Movie tickets cost too much. Anyway it looks like fun, same way as the dog and cat movie.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Sounds interesting Kab Buch.
kab2rb over 14 years ago
Nite
