Ladyhawk - As she is in a video she is good at lip-synching. She must of sung it in a studio, although they can do a lot of things nowdays to improve it, hopfully they didn’t. It will be interesting to see if she developes into singing as a career. (I think her birthday is in April so she must of just turned 7 when this was made.)

I’m guessing she isn’t that good at lipsyncing and that she just sang it in all those locals with them filiming, and then they spliced it all together. I agree the soundtrack was done in studio. My daughter is 9 and she loves to sing, (and is pretty good too, if I can say so) but I also know how missing the two front teeth can alter the sound and pronunciation. That is more of why I am wondering if they altered the sounds some in studio.

Again, either way she is really good. The way she carries herself for the video is good, and you can tell from certain things that she really is a good singer overall also. Maybe one day that will be here career, or else her parents will burn her out before she gets there, who knows.

Ladyhawk - Yes, the lipsyncing probably was done a lot in production - I was jumping to conclusions! Her singing may of been done before losing the teeth? If not that is something I have wondered about. I had a cousin that had exceptional talent at a young age and became a world renouned concert violinist. Although some disagree, they discovered she had perfect pitch when she was 2 or 3. I enjoy seeing talent show up in young people.

I agree. Just curious - does your cousin still have perfect pitch? They determined my brother had perfect pitch when he was a young adult, but because he didn’t sing regularly, and didn’t use it, he no longer has that talent/skill.

Ladyhawk - She was my same age but died in her early thirties. I think she was two when my uncle brought a tuning fork over to show her. He struck it to make a sound. She ran up and said “what’s that, what’s that?” My uncle said “you don’t know what this is?” She answered “it’s A (the pitch) but what’s that?” She had never seen a tuning fork before!

Her perfect pitch allowed her to play the violin excellently. Her first year of high school she won a contest as the best violinest in high school and college in the USA! She recived a scholarship to Julliard and later taught there, etc.

GOOD AFTERNOON, Tribe and all and sundry!

I liked the stories about pitch the last little while.

I have pretty good pitch, but not perfect. More of a relative pitch, if I get the mode right when I start. OTOH, some members of the local choir have noted that I usually am very close to A or F when I start singing.

Rmom said, about 20 cold snaps ago

Sojo - My hubby used to (before I met him) work for a bread company. His truck’s defroster & heater didn’t work - he had to use candles to defrost his windshield….

Just last night my brother was telling me that they had an air-popper (remember them? Before microwave popcorn??) that they had not used for many years. They also had some pipes in an unheated space that tended to freeze when the cold hit. The first time or two they tried thawing the pipes with a hair dryer, but it didn’t work too well because the cold leaked in faster than the hair dryer could put out heat. So he was looking around for what might help when he saw the popcorn popper. It worked like a charm–they really pump out really hot air!

In fact, when that popper gave up the ghost a few years later, they found another “pipe heater” at a garage sale!

@Ladyhawk, it reminds me of what Dr. Gott says about some of the home remedies he’s learned about over the years–a bar of soap under the sheet for restless leg syndrome, or Vaporub for toenail fungus are a couple that come to mind. His theory: it may not help you, but it seems to help lots of people–and at $-0.45 or $2.50 a pop for the “medicine”, you really can’t afford not to give it a try…

Gee, here I thought that was a meteor shower. Oddly, the meteors were coming in lots of different colors–green, blue, pink, gold, orange. And they were diverging, not converging.

I think you guys overshot a bit–I hear that Minnesota is looking for the source of the damaging rockets from last night. They don’t know who to declare war on: the Idaho survivalists or the Oregon Greenies.

I was just walking back from the hot & muggy outdoors and I thought I heard Christmas music coming from our lab. I doubled back, walked in and sure enough The Jingle Bell Rock was playing on the radio.

I was told that the guy on the radio said something about Christmas in July. An attempt to make us feel cooler?

Hi Grog - It seems some stores start Christmas sales earlier every year. In retaliation I remember one store that had a 4th of July sale at Christmas time!

After comments had to go back and read about last nights events. Now I understand the “colorful meteor show” we had last night. At least that’s what i thought it was at the time…

How many guys had to go buy new shirts and towels today?

    Hi Ladywolf

Bye Everyone! I’m off for an extended weekend. Get to see my brother and sister at the same time (hasn’t happened in almost 9 years, and about another 9 before that). Also having a reunion at the church I grew up at. 50 year Anniversary so there will be a number of people there I haven’t seen in 20 years or more.

    HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE

Just wanted the TRIBE to know that after almost 3 weeks of living in the tropics, we got AC today complete with 21st century digital controls (Oooohh!). Didn’t get charged for asbestos removal either. I’m going to turn it down to 60, throw every blanket on the bed, and ask my lady to keep me warm. I should be in a better mood than I’ve been.

Hello Ladywolf since it almost 10pm here I missed everyone again. I was going to ask **Sojourner in his neck of town if he had any rain today. Where I work at sprinkled, then afternoon saw a lot of clouds forming, canceled my walk when I got home after dinner and durn clouds didn’t do anything. And I need the exercise. I’ve been trying to see about financial help from federal or state, if I can go to Jr. college. I’m surprised my lunch picture is still where I left it.

We had a hard rain and thunderstorm for 1/2 inch around 3:30 this p.m. SE of KCMO about 50 miles…it moved on East.

First time on this strip. A LOT of good comments!

10:35 here…Mountain time Zone starts around Goodland Kansas…Central East of there.

I live way east of you in KS central part. There is one other lives in same town here and another further SE. We are on the same time frame.

I’m currently reading a book and trying to decide when to turn in. After midnight someone posts a breakfast menu and not me.

I think that’s where I’m heading Ladywolf looks like you have a picnic type meal. By the way advertising on TV looks like Yogi Bear and Boobo is having a movie coming up in theaters like type of chipmunks. I will wait until comes on CD, Movie tickets cost too much. Anyway it looks like fun, same way as the dog and cat movie.

That’s good but one never knows when they will get scared or spooked. What color are the horses are they mares, Standard brown or black. If only I was younger, I envy you young lady I could never get my body on a horse, and I use to ride a bike decades ago now to stiff. I reached another chapter in my book, which I want to do each night maybe not chapter but get some pages turned, trying to get this monster finished. I have a whole lot more books to go. Have fun and get some rest. I so envy you I know it’s a whole of hard work on a ranch but then you get some benifits of nice fresh air in the open. Office type one doesn’t just a lot of paperwork. I will try to catch this up Friday morning not as early as 3rd shifters. Nite
