Given that dogs have only a fraction of the taste buds humans do, I doubt the dog even noticed. Give the dog a bacon-cheddar burger and he’s quite happy.
I walked my dog this morning even though I fell on black ice (a yearly tradition) and landed on my knee that should be replaced. Around the block she found a very, very sharp bone. I didn’t know at first what she had in her mouth, but I got it out. Typical walk. I cut it short to only a mile and half as it was icy out and I didn’t want to fall again. I fell at the bottom of my own driveway, just as I stepped off the dry curb onto unseeable black ice. It’s now covered with purple road salt for anyone else walking their dogs this morning.

I don’t think Gibbs even tastes his dinner. Just inhales it.

They must have been overwhelmed by the hint of bacon bits.

Is the human trying to talk with his mouth full?

I think the dog would prefer some hint of dead squirrel.

The dog would have to give the food time to touch his tongue to be able to notice any taste. But he’s a dog so he’s just inhaling it.
