Just a reminder that the first new book of Bloom County comic strips in about 25 years hits the stores today (Bloom County Episode XI: A New Hope). The title is a ripoff, of course, but the strips themselves are all BB’s original work. Yes, we’ve read them all online here at Go Comics or on BB’s Facebook page but guys like me (and Opus) would much rather read comic strips in a book instead of on a video screen. Just saying.
As for where BB got the idea for Episode 11, there were at least 8 books covering Bloom County’s run in the 1980’s (Loose Tails, Toons for Our Times, Penguin Dreams and Stranger Things, Bloom County Babylon, Billy and the Boingers Bootleg (which had the record packed with it), Tales Too Ticklish to Tell, Attack of the Mary Kay Commandos, and Happy Trails). I can’t remember what books 9 and 10 were called, but they must be out there somewhere.
